Wouldn't put my house on it Stiffy- I'll bet he bottoms out at 6' - 6'2" - is an early developer - see it all the time in basketball juniors.
I think he would aready be about 190 cm, surely he could grow another 3-5 cm in a year and a half.

He could very well bottom out at current height but the law of averages would say that he still has some growing to do. He is still only 16.

I find it strange that people refer to Michael as not having pace. From my recollections, Michael had pace to burn, but knew how to conserve it until he needed it, hence why he was very rarely caught with the ball. Having played against Michael, I witnessed first hand, his ability to accelerate just before you got to him, his ability to always hit a target by hand or foot and his absolute disregard for his own safety. If Jesse is anything like his father, then he should be a priority.

After having seen Gibbs on the weekend, he is another exciting prospect if he can put on a few kilos, could be a Scotty Thompson type if he gets a bit stronger. He's certainly not scared to get in the packs and has a beautiful raking kick. After being ripped off on the father/son rule for so long, it would be very sweet to see two fantastic prospects come to fruition.

I have heard comments that Gibbs is a little soft. However, after seeing him play a couple of times I strongly disagree. For a 16 yo boy, he isn't afraid to put his head over the ball. To expect him to bash and crash players/men twice his size is ridiculous.

I still think Gibbs will be a KPP. He is tall already for a 16 year old and I suspect he still has some growing to do.

I agree Stiff, if he could grow a few inches he could become a very good Kpp. He reads the play beautifully, has strong hands and can kick well both feet. However, if he doesn't grow much, you can bet him and Marty Mattner will be playing on the wings in 2007. Will be a future centreman when he bulks up.

BTW - Commiserations for your Uncle young fella.

Either way we have real gun on our hands. Obviously, I would rather Bryce be a gun key forward than a key midfielder for obvious reasons but either way I would be happy. Its not often you get a gun and even rarer for a 3rd round pick.

Cheers mate ;)

Well IF he is 190cm you may be right - 5cm may be stretching it a bit though ;)

Hes listed as 183cm Stiffy. Definately not 190cm tall right now.

Must be an old list ;)
He's definatly taller than 6'. Im 6'3" and if he's not my height, he's very close.

That sounds more like it - definately a midfielder not KPP.

Father was an awesome backman played like Macca of the HBF, magical with his skills and did some unbelievable things on the footy field.

But he could be just as horrible the next week - very very very confident and used to love a specky and then do a 60mtr drop kick

Thats what we're in for brilliance and frustration!

Well Chad Cornes is listed as 191 and Bryce isnt 1cm smaller than Chadley.

Id say hes about 186ish. I think he will end up 190-192, but he isnt there now.

I didn't stand back to back with him, but from 10 feet away I did notice that he is a big kid, skinny though.

Paynter, Aish, Gibbs - All midfielders :D

It's exciting. My PAP mates are spewing we may get Gibbs under the FS. But who knows, if they can get Dave Granger Jnr off the glue, he maybe a potential FS for them. I'm not too fussed about missing out on the Cornes kids now especially when you consider:

Bassett>C Cornes,
Thompson>>>>>>>>>>>K Cornes.

It also appears as though the Cornes boys huge egos are better suited to Alberton.

Is that what they call it pace conservation - now we know what to call Skippys pace deprevation problems :p

Your right though he didn't get caught, a fantastic player and as I said great footy brain.

Gyms wern't really the go then so Jesse may bulk up a bit - but without seeing him Melbournes Davey comes to mind - am I close?

I don't think that a gym will make all that much difference to him as he's like his Dad-very wiry frame, but very durable. All he needs to do is add a bit of weight and he'll be fine, but he won't be a Ricciuto by any stretch, more a Burton body type.

As for Skipworth, he is what we would have to call pace impaired. This is entirely different to conserving pace, as in order to do that, you need to posess it in the first place. His legs seem to move quickly, they just don't go anywhere!!

He is definetly taller than that. At the end of last year he was 187 cm.

In the football budget theyve got him listed as 16yo, 183cm and 75kg. So unless the football budgets stats are either made up or two years old (neither would surprise me really). I agree he is taller than 183....but hes not 190 yet.

Well if he is as good as Jonathan Brown he can do both!

like the Granger comment :p

Maybe bock > C Cornes not too long in the futureas well, as he actually sticks to his man. It would be nice to have both of them though springy, simply for heritage reasons. Chad cornes in particular though is overrated. Basically too small for a key position and plays a loose man in defence. Kane is a run of the mill tagger/midfielder with minimal hurt factor. The problem is that port have corrupted them, especially the older one and we blew our shot we had of getting the younger one. The only thing that is a worry is it makes port more appealing to have them, cause of cornesy and increases their very limited support in the state.

You're entitled to your opinion Jacko, but the Cornes' boys are well-above-average AFL players and are both clearly in Port's best 5 players at the moment. Sure, Chad has some flaws in his game, but his marking prowess and run off half-back is superb and more than compensates.

Having said that, I don't wanna' ever see them play for us. They 'annoy' the ******** out of me.
