Your club’s biggest disappointment in 2017
Brisbane — A Frosty debut season

Jack Frost arrived at the Lions in search of greater opportunities at the end of last season and it quite clearly hasn’t worked out. Despite playing two games after serving a suspension in Round 1, Frost hasn’t been sighted since spending the majority of his time in the NEAFL. With Harris Andrews and Daniel McStay holding down key defensive posts, Frost sure has a battle on his hands to earn a place in the side over the coming years.

Recovery Report:
Blanch also provided an update for supporters of Jack Frost who suffered a concussion earlier in the NEAFL season. Frost returned after his knock, but after developing post-concussion symptoms, the team decided to rest him for the remainder of the season.

“He’s been tested by a number of different specialists, and their advice is we keep Jack going quietly this year.” It’s believed Frost will be fit and firing for the 2018 season.

As a pies fan I saw a fair bit of Jack play and was disappointed when we traded him to you guys for steak knives.

He is quick off the line, strong bodied and competitive. Granted, Jack is never going to be a star but i was very surprised to learn that despite being fit he
hasn’t been able to crack the 22 once this season.

Do you guys have any idea as to how he has been going in the NEAFl or how he factors into your future plans moving forward?

Cheers

Concussions and being roughly fourth in line for a back two spot are his main limitations.

Spoke volumes when Eagles got a run over him. Right now, Harris Andrews + Darcy are the best 22 combo, followed by Walker, then Eagles if fit. Skinner would likely get games next, and next season Payne would probably even get games before Frost.

This may come as a surprise to you but not everyone who follows AFL lives in Australia.
Ever been out of the country? Give it a go, it’s fun

This might come as a surprise but some people like to make jokes.

End of season injury update
Just like in 2017, the Brisbane Lions finished the 2018 season with one of the lowest injury rates in the AFL.

The Lions' Head of High Performance Damien Austin was pleased with how his performance staff and players worked together to keep injuries to a minimum in 2018.

Defender Jack Frost sustained a concussion in the Lions NEAFL side's loss to Aspley on the weekend, which saw him leave the match early. Frost has made a full recovery and passed all necessary tests this week.

#45 - Jack Frost
It's been a long road back to playing for Jack Frost after suffering through concussion issues in 2017. Frost returned to form this season, playing 18 matches for the Lions' NEAFL side. In Round 18 against the Sydney Swans Frost was influential, collecting 17 disposals to come away as one of the best on field in the 61-point victory.

Development Coach Paul Henriksen was impressed by the growth Frost displayed on the day. “Jack Frost had probably his best game for the year against Sydney," he said. Heading into the 2019 pre-season healthy, Frost will be more than eager to earn back his spot in the Lions' Senior team.

NEAFL matches: 18
