I'm not joking, If another club comes and promises him opportunity we can't give him it is absolutely on the table.
Yeah nah. He's not going anywhere.
Opportunity always comes for the players "in form"
Whoever leaves us for not getting opportunity is because they're not playing well enough.
We are in a good space right now.

He isn't one to be scared of a little competition. He aint going anywhere. He'll back himself to get back into the team. Opportunity will come, and we know he has the ability to take it. We are certainly not letting him go, and he would have no plans to run scared.

Okay lets revisit this in 10 weeks time

I can also see Gin and Hill playing together eventually.
I'm tipping this to happen on Anzac day. No way Ginni misses this one.
It may happen sooner.

Do you mean Bruce Reid?
Pat Cummins is another - he had back issues early on.
Sorry yes Bruce and agree on Pat - Dennis of course had huge issues but after he overcame them if I had to choose a bowler to save my life by taking a wicket it would be him - heart the size of the G and more courage than a wolverine.

We are lucky to have this kid. We really are. Talent like his doesn’t grow on trees. Hopefully brings his confidence back to the field and bring back a reminder of what made last year great. Hopefully some new celebrations.

40 goal, 2nd year small forwards are rare

His biggest strength so far is goal kicking yet we haven’t been short on that front in the last two weeks. If he can go to the VFL and add a midfield string to his bow he could become a really dangerous mid/fwd. There’s non rush to bring him back, let him develop as much as possible and force his way into the side, we’ll have an absolute weapon after that.

That's what I've been seeing at training. They have been using him in the midfield, then going forward.
But you can never have too many goal kickers. One might not realise it, but he's taller than Mitchell and Adams. A couple more pre-seasons he could very well be really dangerous if they make him a forward mid

I’m a Ginnivan fan, but he needs to continue developing his game and in the AFL if you’re not going forwards; you’re effectively going backwards relative to everyone else. Ginnivan’s disposals, goals, marks and frees for all dipped in the second half of 2022. He had a great season, but is not guaranteed anything going into this year with McCreery and Hill looking terrific.

Probably applies to all young players. He isn't the finished product, and he would know that. He's been developing different aspects to his game. The modern game changes, and so as a player you have to keep evolving too, adding more strings to your bow.

I have liked what I have seen lately. He is really good at contested ball, sees the game and opponents so clearly, sees space and knows what to do with it. I do think he can add a midfield role to his forward role, would make him quite dangeous and unpredictable.

Also, kicked 18 goals post-bye. He only went goalless in 3 games in the 2nd half of the year, so didn't dry up that much tbf

With the amount of pressure Beau and Bobby put of defenders, I think you can get away with Ginni in the forward line as well.
The kids is really talented and plays with high footy IQ. The fact he kicked 40 goals in his second year wasn't an accident! Only played 5 games in his first year.
He will also get better and is still getting AFL fit at 20yo. An ascending player.

Sure, but who are you demoting?

Kid has been through a lot in the last 12 months. Has so much growth in him. Physically and game wise. Look forward to what he produces in next 12-18 months as he develops with others in his draft like fin, reef and Beau. That draft, 2021 and 2022 are our future.

I think we are forgetting he was under under extreme pressure and spotlight and very much targeted by opposing players. I think the fact that he has missed 4 to 6 wks play means he must come back through the VFL no choice about that.I think the form of Reef has made it harder for him to get back in but those football smarts and goalkicking accuracy means he will be back soon, for one so young he actually does a lot organizing on the field much like N Daicos who is the only one with more football nous among the younger group.
