Hey guys just wondering after a year on the rookie list how is this kid going? Has he been playing WAFL and if so has he played well? Will he be retained next year and do you think he is a long term prospect?

I would appreciate any thoughts you all have. Thankyou

He spent the year playing WAFL reserves so is a long way off the mark at this stage. Will probably get another season but 2006 will probably be make or break. Apparently played well in London on the weekend.

Played 6 league games towards the end of the year, got named in the best players a couple of times, kicked a few goals... think he'll get a 2nd year on the rookie list with Duff and Warren likely to be elevated making room for this year's intake.

can anyone get the results (best, goals, line ups, disposals, etc) from the london match?? much appreciated

Juniper has a long way to go from all reports. The fact he could barely get a game in the Perth Demons seniors says a lot. The Demons are a joke.
The same thing was said about Scotty Thornton. A 5th round pick at 66, Scotty-Too-Hotty spent 2001-2003 working his way up though the system at South Freo. Juniper is a bottom age selection and is still 18 and I heard he wasn't that game fit.

But giiven his athletic abilities he could be a superstar. Scotty started slowly and just kept improving. Maybe Juniper will do the same.

I'd be interested in knowing what kind of kid he is. Is he a bit shy or something?

Fish, I'm interested in the fact that you have seen him play, obviously in SA, and ask why you believe he is a superstar. Perhaps you might like to give us a bit more information.
Understandably, I hope your assessment is correct.
Freo do give the rookies time to develop so it's not unusual to have little information early in the piece.
That said, he will need to prove himself next year.

From what I have heard, he is the exact opposite.

One of the things detracting from his drafting potential.

You couldnt get rid of a guy with such a wicked name. Then again, Brisbane delisted spaanderman so he could be in trouble.

Yes you must be right, Johnny. We couldn't even win the wooden spoon last year. But well done to Carlton for pulling that one off in the AFL

Jack will play more games in Perth's league squad this year. Hopefully a big pre-season will see him bulk up a bit. He is quick, a good mark, and can be handy in front of goals.

That made me laugh! :thumbsu:

satan311 - is that what we'd have if Big Aaron grew another metre?? ;)

Jack has a long way to go before he will be even thought of playing AFL football. What he has is unbelievable potential and has a touch of class. Needs to become more confident in his abilities and needs a good year of senior WAFL football to help build that confidence.

Just another skinny kid along with kreiger and copping that will take 3 yrs or more to put meat on bones. Then there is the risk if they bulk up to quickly-Ostitis Pubis. One can only be on rookie list for two yrs.

Duffield has done his two yrs on rookie list and wasn't elevated.

Haven't seen him play but have seen him at training. TripleJ is exactly the sort of bloke you want on the Rookie list. Someone who has the potential to be drafted, but who has some questions over him. In JJJ's case the questions seem to be attitude (from comments on here only!) and skinnyness (which Rookie listing is part of the cure for). The potential upside for him seems huge.
