Seriously, this guy doesn't nearly get the accolades that he deserves. It's been a rough couple of weeks and with the Scully GWS/injury news, he continues to fly under the raider.

24 all class disposals, 7 marks and 10 tackles on Saturday in a 13 goal loss, against a midfield compromised of Judd, Scotland, Murphy, Gibbs and Simpson.

Just a gun. Leads from the front and oozes silky smooth, plus he's as tough as nails. Quite phenomenal for a second year player, considering how gutless his teammates can be.

Seriously has to be considered for the leadership group next year. Will place high in the B&F.

Every bit as good as Martin and Fyfe. Wish we'd taken him at number 1 :thumbsu:

honestly, i reckon hes looking tired
still trying his guts out but i reckon hes not having the same impact he was having earlier in the year, hes still getting plenty of it but i reckon he was more damaging earlier on... hes a good chance to win the BNF

Yes, damn Melbourne for letting him slide all the way to pick 2.

hard to have impact when everyone around you in playing like shit

the best part of his season from a viewing point-of-view is his marking. added in a leap and has quite sticky hands

considering the entire senior brigade are completely ****ing pathetic, its makes the performance of Watts and Trengove ever more impressive

Fair point.

Yeah he's a gun, as tap_my_scott says it's really pleasing to see this guy and Watts give 100% week in, week out when their more senior teammates are found wanting.

The only criticism I have of Trengove is his conversion around goals. Misses too many sitters for a guy of his class. Everything else about him gets a thumbs up.

I've also heard from a couple of people who are involved with the club that Trengove is as good a bloke as you will ever meet off the field. This sort of shines through with his work in the media, constantly going in to bat for Scully, good sense of humour etc.

It's great we have such an obvious star in the making here.

But we have to be careful that we don't turn into a St.Kilda, full of stars but with a shit bottom 6-8 (although I won't complain with a few GF appearances).

The most talented midfielder we've had come through since....

Not sure really. Viney perhaps? Dare I say Flower? Obviously a lot is based on potential.

Wouldn't go too early.

Signs are great, but think about the circlejerk after McLean's final against St. Kilda (which incidentally I will always love him for).

True, and I actually think that up until the Carlton game he had been a little bit out of form.

Love the way he goes about it though and he is will be an extremely vital cog going forward for the next 10 years. He is a fantastic contested mark to go with those midfield skills, meaning he can rest forward and be just as damaging.

him and gysberts look like they have been crying out for a rest since that darwin game

yet funnily enough i would have thought watts would be tiring cuz hes played every game but hes travelling magnificently

Haha, just saying that I reckon he might have handled any pressure in a more diligent manner (not that Scully hasn't) and maybe, just maybe, there would have been less GWS hype around Scully at #2.

That was one game in McLean's third year though. Trengove has had quite a few standout games this year (although probably not to that EF quality).

Word coming through from the foundation dinner tonight, from demonland, Jack Trengove has re-signed until 2015!!!!

Also Gawn for a period among others, who i am unsure of

About a year ago I asked Jack Watts whether I should get "4" or "31" on the back of my Dees jumper and without missing a beat Jack said "9". Says alot about what the players think about JT. Leaders stand up during hard times, not good times, and JT has taken a stand for our club during the toughest of times and I hope others follow his lead :thumbsu:
