This is a genuine thread. The WA ruck men are vastly overrated ( sandilands and natanui) I think it is because they are from wa, and no one sees many games and they just go off the media hype. Jacobs and Martin are far superior

Nic nat is far superior in the taps, but thats it. Tippett was monsterous in the finals. Strong contested marking. At least with tippett ge provides a good out to teammates, if they are under pressure they can kick long and there is a fair chance he will mark it. Not to mention he is more dangerous up forward

Roughead is more dangerous up forward and gets more of the ball than both of them. Doesn't make him a better ruckman. You just call it the taps but the difference he makes to West Coasts ability to win clearances is massive. Their midfield is bog standard but Naitanui can make it look top shelf.

I thought NicNat was one of the WCE players who could hold his head up today, he was killing us in the ruck contests early, had a good hard crack at it which is really all the fans are asking for.

Would I necessarily want him in our side? No, but who gives a f*ck. Brings excitement to the game, and I bet Priddis and others around him are perfectly happy with the service they're getting, as are the West Coast forwards as a result.

We have a different approach of playing a pair of Frankensteins, works for us.

Dude seriously Naitanui is good but clearly injured in the grand final. Why do you think he was only in the ruck for 30-40% of game? He also pressured Hawks players in the contest whenever they had the ball. The problem was they always seemed to have a link up handball defensive side. Where the Eagles pressure was I don't know!!!

Strongly disagree. Our worst seasons have coincided with seasons he has struggled with injury and best when he's (relatively) injury free. That's not a coincidence and it has nothing to do with him being a downhill skier.

Very good player but he was pretty poor today by his lofty standards IMO. Had a great first 10 minutes just like most of the West Coast side but fell apart quickly after. He had so much presence early I'm not sure where it went.

When he's on, he's ON. Consistency is an issue, but that's not uncommon unless you're in the very elite.

He were rubbish today, ergo, WC had no chance.

He seemed to be running a bit slow back through the centre to get back into defence during turn overs. Probably a poor game rather than overrated IMO. perhaps a bit under done or injured. His tap work seemed to be received well but the midfield were a little fumbly later he just started clearing the whole pack forward but didn't seem set up for this with an Eagles player playing his opponent behind to body him forward turn and receive. More often than not hawk player came off the line and negated any advantage. Tough year losing his Mum so a lot going on for the young man.

It's pretty obvious we don't pay him to get a heap of disposals.

Was good in the ruck but below his usual standard today. Given what he's been through lately and the fact we were smashed by a quality side I'm willing to cut him a bit of slack. Will come back bigger and better (and hopefully fit, because he wasn't today) next season.

I agree. I think nat has had a good year, but nothing like the media flogs over here make out. Sandilands even more overrated. Biggest guy in the afl can barely mark the ball the gangly *******. So a bloke that big should be winning the ruck contest .
