I don't know about everyone else, but after reading everyone's opinion on him i think he is a shue-in for our pick. I have watch his highlights and read his profile and thimk o would live him at the Blues. So much that i will be dissapointed if we didn't get him.

Agreed. We just need to continue topping up our already high-quality midfield, and Ziebell is a classy goal-kicking midfielder with great delivery - exactly what we need.

If we take him with our first pick, we get ourselves one sure-thing addition to our team, which lets us take positional needs later on in the draft. Lock him in now, and get to work identifying the gems with those later picks!

As I see it, I imagine that Hurley would be our number 1 priority.

If he's not around, providing that Naitanui, Rich, Watts, Hartlett don't slip a bit, Ziebell would be next in line.

Reality is, we're most probably going to end up with one of the above players, and I can't see how one could be too unhappy about that.

That is if we don't trade the pick like I want ;)

havent we got enough quality midfielders already,y wouldnt we be looking at a chf or chb, surely there has to be another good player in the draft that can play that position once watts goes

hope to god we dont go after Naitanui, providing he slips. he's ball skills are really bad, its just the leap he has got going for him!!
will be happy with this guy or hurley:thumbsu:

Totally disagree - if Nat is clear No.1 according to esteemed Vic Country coach Robert Hyde, then I would love to get him

i watched the vic metro vs wa game, and he doesnt really catch my eye, he won almost every ruck contest, but just his ball skills are very worrying

I think it is that he is such an athlete and seems to know how to find ball so just imagine the development after about 4yrs on your list - might make for a very pretty following 10yrs

Once again I am kind of posting in two threads but will add that Hydey rates Ziebell very highly and compared him to Buckley

Probably doesn't accumulate as much as Buckley, but is alot harder than Bucks. Reckon Jack would be the better forward of the 2 also however Bucks didn't play forward much so it's kind of hard to say. Footskills however are Buckley like.:)

You can never have enough quality midfielders.

We've got a great core group of midfielders, but as far as depth goes, we're still severely lacking in that area.

Nothing wrong with continuing to pick midfielders as far as I'm concerned.

Apparently Naitanui won't even be available at the Dockers pick according to Barish (Fremantle recruiter).

Barish isnt a Freo recruiter.

Its Barich and he is a Ch7 reporter who is a top bloke but abit of a buffoon. Talks alot of crap. I wouldnt read much into what he's saying at all.

There is no way I would expect Zieb to be as good as Buckley. He could have been sensational playing anywhere bar Ruck. The last sentence is all Hyde meant :thumbsu:

+1, not only would nicnat solve our hit-out woes, he plays with great intensity, hunts the ball and thrives on the contest like MK. His tackling is fierce and he will be a beast in years to come.

Speaking of MK Gilly, just a quick question, if you had a choice between Naitanui and Kruezer right now which player would you choose?

WOw, that's a tough one...I'm going to take the opposite approach to WH and sit well and truly on the fence :)

MK is a more natural footballer but NN would have an edge in athleticism. Roundabouts and Swings :o.

Out of 16 teams we have 1 of the 2 (when we were in a position to grab one of them) so I'm pretty happy with that :thumbsu:
