Bluebear said:Both Saddington and Davies were on the long term injuries list, I assume they both made way for Smith and Jackson.
Jackson has pushed hard and deserves a chance (maybe could have had one a couple of weeks ago to get a good run, but I guess smith nudged him out. Is on a hiding to nothing this week - just hope he shows something.
As much as I want to see he kids come on, I don't believe in just handing over senior spots for the sake of it. I haven't seen Edwards this year, but from what I have heard he might be a good player in the fututre, but hasn't done loads yet.
If we reward mediocrity then it sends the signal that thats the level required. If you say thats good kid but we need more, than you either get more or he does'nt make it.
IMO Edwards shouldn't play, but should be commended on pushing for a spot (me thinks thats what they're saying by selecting him).
4blues said:I agree players shouldnt be rewarded for mediocracy, but it could also be seen as a way of motivating these players and showing them that if they want to play at that level that they have to work hard to get back there. One game could be the motivation that Edwards and co need.
I'm sure Pagan and co have just decided to give some of the better performed youngsters a game before the year is out. The only ones to miss out are Flint (who's injuried), Raso and Aisake who aren't ready physically, and Hartlett who's got some serious issues with his game at present.FieryNayta said:Maybe the selection of bower last week gave jake some massive motivation for a push into the seniors. Good luck to him, im sure he must have been doing something right to be selected.

Playing off the bench doesn't worry me because of his recent injury issues. Its the reports about his new found kicking issues that worry me.The Grover said:Hartlett is a real concern at present, being played off the bench at the bullants is a worry.
He's had injuries & maybe a full pre-season will do the trick
