It's probably the same impact that Ballantyne did on Newman, hit a player in the guts while they weren't expecting it. We all called for his head, same should apply to Richmond players.

If the hit was like the Newman one I'd have no problem with a ban. From the footage that was posted though it's not even clear if he did hit him, let alone with force and certainly without malice of forethought. The only evidence of a hit is the crows player looks like he's grabbing at his own throat.

TBH don't know what to think now. You shouldn't get away with hitting a guy in the throat, but the footage is inconclusive. Probably why the medical report played a part.

You're looking at the wrong arm, it was Jacksons left arm that jabbed Knights in the gut

Actually looks worse in real time than the slowed down version, but it's still inconclusive visuals for mine. It's only the Crows players reaction that tells the tale.

Comes across as a bit of a "love tap" :p that caught the player off guard & in the wrong spot. Bit stupid and thuggish from Jackson, but only marginally worse than a lot that goes on, so probably could make an argument either way re the suspension. Can't complain too much though as without his history he'd play this week, which would be about right if you concluded he was guilty.

According to The Verdict the impact was normally enough to get a reprimand and no games but Jackson has been suspended 7 times in the past 3 years hence all the additional carry over points and the 2 weeks.

Both are bullshit. Love tap from Jackson. Walker should have got 2 at most.
WTF do doctors put in medical reports these days???

He probably would've got 2 weeks if he didn't have a poor record going into it, but he did, and was unable to lower it even with an early plea.

If Jacksons appeal is succesful then Knights will/should be done for staging!!! Looking at the slowed down footage yes Jackson does go for the punch but doesn't connect properly because Knights's arm is in the way.

How come no-one has said anything about Knights trying to rip Cotchins head off in the lead up to it? It's why Jacko hit him - " Leave Cotch alone" !! Glad he stood up for Cotch - just a shame he can't work out how to do it without getting reported!!!

Edit - had players name wrong.

I read that as the Adelaide medical report helped assess that there was low impact
(whereas our report helped Walker to an increase in the severity based on post match observations of Morris)
