Oh good. I feel better now.

All we need are our All-Australians like Glass, Cox, LeCras and Kerr to return to form, and they and our other premiership players like Lynch, Embley, Selwood, Waters and Butler will help our young kids along.

What a bright and successful future we have ;)

No one would argue that he had to grind hiss way to 100 games - and as Jackson himself said, he's no star. If we are to win premierships however, we needs stars.

Congrats on making it to 100 just the same.

All truth in that jest. Our rise will be slower because it will be built on youth. However, affordably and responsibly trading in say Carlile and Seaby would do wonders for our stocks.

I agree, just cant see how he can be a best 22 player in a premiership side.

I'd actually be leaning towards trading him this year to try and secure Jackson Trengove as he may have some currency for GWS as an inside midfielder and leader for a few years.

E.G
Jackson + Pick 32
For Pick 15 (GWS) ontraded to port for Trengove.

Exactly Wallaby. Dan Jackson should be put on a media ban, although he does seem to have slowed down on Twitter lately - in fact they all have since the GC match - thank god.

For a smart (educated) man, he seems to lack confidence.

I'd be happy to do a trade deal involving DJ if we could get someone like Trengove out of it. Pipedreams.

The smartest/most educated men generally lack confidence...

Also I agree with Jacko on this, we can rise like the Eagles, but I doubt to the same extent. The Eagles were plagued with injuries last year similarly to us this year. When we're all back in the ballpark at the start of next year (touch wood) we will see a noticeable improvement.

Personally I think our season ended with the injuries to Grimes and to a lesser extent Astbury, we just don't have the depth to cover those huge losses in the backline especially with Kelvin Moore being gone all year.

Bring on 2012

No doubt you will - but i don't think it will be as rapid.

One thing you guys lack is a core group of elite senior blokes to drag a team up the ladder

The reason we are in the top 5 is on the back of blokes 27+. This is Cox, Glass, Kerr, Priddis and Embley with only a couple of blokes like Shuey, Kennedy and Lecras supporting

Your mob are having the wheel largely pushed by a set of young guns - but they aren't seasoned. So it's not realistic to expect the likes of McGuane, Griffiths, Conca, Vickery etc to jump out of the ground overnight.

One of the myths out there is that we are a young side - it really isn't true. We are about the same age, slightly younger, than Collingwood last year.

You guys, Melbourne and GC are the only really young sides.

Edit: Just noticed a few other posters said the same thing - apologies for the repitition.

I think you can but more like the Eagles of the Cuz/Judd/Kerr era.

So it will take a few years but it can happen.

You have the makings of an amazing midfield, a gun KPF (which we didn't), the only area I see as potentially lacking is your defence (obviously ruck).

Glass is a multi AA FB. Hunter was a solid CHB who rebounded well, players like Braun, Chick and Waters gave us great hardness down back as well as a lot of run from defence and Wirra was just a gun.

Make no mistake, you can win a premiership with an average forward line but even the Hawks in 08 had a very solid defence.
