I imagine we would be. Everyone in this thread is talking Carlton, but Essendon deserve to be seen as an attractive landing spot for FAs and wantaway young players. We also have a team with a lot of good young players, but we have a state of the art new base in Tullamarine, we play in front of big crowds and with many of our old guard closing in on retirement, we'll still have plenty of money to secure the right players as well. Plus we haven't done any deals involving draft picks so we also have the trade currency to get things done.

Hopper would be the perfect fit for us to replace Watson so certainly hope we make a good pitch.

Well from my perspective he can go. He is going to fall behind Taranto and Setterfield and our guts is pretty solid.

We picked him with an early selection and Leon kept playing him last year even when he wasn't contributing that much. He's a bull at the contest but lacks agility so will have to become an elite user to be an A grader.

No way is he behind Setterfield. He's exactly what we need come finals. He's a beast inside. When he gets played in the middle he has gone really well.

It will depend on the player. If he requests a trade and nominates a team we will have to work within the parameters available. We would have liked better deals for several of our kids that left but once they nominated a preferred option you lose your dealing hand, unless they are outright trying to rob you.

He was a Pick #7 who's probably maintained his value. Pick #13 + 2018 2nd is close to spot on value wise. Wayne Campbell will look upon us favourably + we helped out with Lids salary this year. I'd say we get a cheeky discount A la Carlton with SOS.

Im not sure he will leave but it would be a top 10 pick. 3rd rounders are useless to us at this stage.
