Umm... Isn't it true that we have no idea what we're doing w/wo trading in hopper?

You make a good point.

But at least if you draft a KPP with your top pick its a small positive that the club actually realises they need to bring in more talented KPP's.

Bring in another mid instead and just lol...no end to the madness in sight.

We've spent the last 15 years building the perfect midfield and it still sucks. Hopper would be a welcome inclusion and a massive upgrade on where Adams is tracking.

Your key defenders are Dunn who is C grade and old, Goldsack who isn't much better, Schade who will be lucky to be on a list in 2 years and Reid who is a gun but held together with sticky tape. Up the other end you have Moore and an unproven 26 year old Cox and then basically nothing. If Moore doesn't get some decent support he will end up ruined in the same way Josh Fraser did. You also have enough (too many) players in the 22 who are average to poor kicks of the football. Personally I don't care who gets Hopper as I don't think it's a need for Geelong but if your recruiters spend a high pick on an inside midfielder with average disposal instead of genuine key position players when your list is already as imbalanced as it is, Hine ought to resign.

Harsh on our key defenders who are definitely better than that but I get your drift. Hopper clearly is a luxury, not a need.

The midfield is broken it needs a shake up. Its a myth the midfield is over stocked. Have a closer look. Look at the rotations. Buckley has been starting first rotation players on the bench to get some quality rotating with lesser players. This what you get trading in other peoples rubbish. I was so envious last night watching the saints fast, hungry, all there own. **** if the pies have too be bottom 4 for the next 3 years so be it. Nothing better watching kids going full throttle.

At this point, the only person who knows is Jacob himself, maybe his manager. Hell, maybe he doesn't even know yet. So much can change right up until a deal is done. He will be and deserves to be in demand, that's for sure.
Hahaha I love that you sprout on about how the geelong sources are worth anything and the carlton sources are credible then someone offers an alternative point about sources and you immediatley swing to no one knows and seemingly sources don't matter. You just didnt get the answer you wanted and completely changed tack

Geelong would probably need to get a third club involved or give up a decent footballer. As a Carlton supporter I'd be happy to get involved and nab a Guthrie or Duncan type.
hahahahahahahaha yeah cause we are going to give up a bone fide A grade mid like duncan to get an unproven player. Come on don't just post absolute nonsense

Lol do you want to ream gws any harder?

Seriously the pick 21 and 25 almost cancel each other out only slightly in gws favour.

If you got those 2 your 2018 1st likely to be pick 17-18...so somehow you think pick 18 and 33 is fair for Hopper and Devon Smith.
What that is the dumbest question I have ever heard. Do we want to ream GWS any harder. Ummmmmm yes we want to get the cheapest most biased deal we can. That is how it works and if you can get a steal you do it. Just ask St Kilda last year getting involved in the Hawthorn O'meara trade. Made out like bandits!!

Bit like standing outside fhe bank and yelling it's a holdup give me money. If you think it will work give it a go. Most likely it wont end well though.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-12/numerous-clubs-circling-out-of-contract-giant-jacob-hopper By Callum Twomey.

Geelong and Collingwood have been linked to Hopper, but non-Victorian clubs Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions are also among the teams believed to be monitoring his decision.
I saw that, and it makes it clear to me he is very likely to go, pity. I'm assuming it's the go home factor.
Given it's clear Leon has always rated him, although these things can change, I think we wouod be offerring him decent terms.
Brisbane or Adelaide would need to convince him he wants to go there I think. Whether that's just a heap of cash I'm not sure.

I am sooo looking forward to a link to Hawthorn.... exactly what we need

Would he get the midfield minutes he wants at Geelong and Collingwood? Crows and Brisbane he would. Crows a chance to play finals compared to Brisbane. Simple thinking but don't all clubs have a bit cash with new players salary agreement increasing salary cap

Not sure he's the type we necessarily need, though think he is certainly a good player. Danger, Selwood X2, Menegola all play "inside" roles as well as Blicavs sometimes. Then you have the likes of Duncan, Guthrie and even Cockatoo there too.

That said, I rate him and wouldn't be upset if we were to get him.

Didn't you hear? Barrett is Hopper's bestest buddy BFF and they've always wanted to play together. Err... play together again.

I am making this up.

Really hope we can hold onto him. His value to us is far higher than anything we will get his trade given his output in 2017 has been non existent.

What do you think his trade value would be?

Considering Tom Mitchell is an elite inside player i doubt you would target Hopper. With a heap of retirements coming up i think hawks have made getting a mid who is a classy ball user as the top priority. Especially if Jaeger can't get over his injuries.
