The thing about Jaidyn, "there's none so hungry as those who've had a taste"... n this guy comes free! hello
Plays as a roving tall with smarts up fwd. Just what we're looking for.

Even out of the system he's kept a fairly lean figure which is probably one of the harder things to do - especially on a diet of take outs and local footy club snags.Fills a massive void for us, and the possibility of bringing in top end talent for nothing, is exciting as a fan.
We aren't looking at getting the 18-20 immature young man that was Jaidyn. We are getting the 25-26yo version of a man that has worked through some pretty harsh reality checks and has had a serious taste of life in the real world as an adult. He is now at the crossroads of his life as a professional athlete - where the realisation upon him is that he is pretty well a wasted talent unless things change quickly.
His misdemeanours were pretty bloody silly, but stuff you can come back from with a bit of maturity, experience and guidance. We have no reason at this minute to doubt the decision by the club to offer him the opportunity at that list spot, and if he gets it, we trust that he has earned it. So far, it is trending in that direction.
It's Jaidyn's spot to lose. I have come around to the idea that he will end up on the list despite having some reservations about him; namely his efforts and intensely when things do awry. Only a major injury will prevent him from being on the list.Among the reasons why we delisted Finalyson, Williams and to a lesser degree Burton, was their tendancy to pack it in and not try when things got tough in matches. Finlayson was even dropped for that specific reason when things didn't go well for him when he was trailled as a CHB at AFL level in an early round of last season. Williams was called out by Tim Ginever when he squibbed a contest in an SANFL game. My point is that Stephenson despite his talent has also been known to lose effort when things haven't gone well.
I really hope those days are behind him because Carr has been ruthless with quitters and non-triers. That is why we should be much better under Carr. Kenny kept backing guys who lacked character on the footy field.
Stephenson is pretty sure to get a spot on our list if he can convince the coaches that he's the leopard who has changed his spots.
