Hey Bluebaggers... Just wondering... Where is Butch's son at? Saw hima few times last year and thought he looked like a really good lead up option. Why isn't he playing 1's???

Injured ATM and not even playing with the Ants, which is pretty much the story of his career.

He had a couple of good games last year vs Tigers and Freo, but drifted in and out of games a little too much.

With the development of our rucks, Cloke has gone forward and pretty much taken the "other tall" spot that Edwards would be looking at.

We are changing our forward structure to two talls and plenty of smalls, and you'll see Fev, Cloke, Betts, Yarran and one of Wiggins/Houlihan/Russell/Garlett floating around there as well.
Basically forwards that can either take a big mark and nail a big kick, or the crumbing/defensive pressure small forward.

Edwards will most likely be delisted at years end. Unfortunate as he did show some real talent at times, but struggled to play consistently due to injuries, and when he did come up to the ones, struggled to have consostent impacts on games.

Was actually just looking through the players profiles in the Carlton membership booklet and was thinking the same thing myself.

Good on the lead but just a very suss kick.

I am not so sure about that statement. He may be traded to Richmond, but not delisted. He's still only 21 and I see others to go well before Edwards.

As we touched on before season commencement, Carlton should be in a very good position to trade to advantage at seasons end.
We could really set ourselves up for many years ahead.
Having said that we are already in a reasonable position, but all those little top ups are important

l would suggest unless Edwards shows something in the remainder of this season he will be delisted at year end, he has long enough and the reality is that unless in four years you do not show that are going to be a senior player you will not hold your spot on a AFL list.
Highly unlikely he would tradeable to another club based on what he has shown to date.

You may find Richmond somewhat more interested than what face value throws up.

Meets the needs: Big Man. Good Mark. Father played for club. Has many years on his side. Has been with good club for three years now.
He starts ticking off a few boxes now, and may have currency just yet.

LOL

no currency whatsover. will be lucky to get rookie listed by another club when he's delisted at the end of this year.

You would think 4-5 would have to be delisted.
Therefore one of Edwards and Hartlett will most likely go at the end of the season.

I have not seen heaps of them but I would probably prefer Hartlett to stay because of his massive shoe!

Morton, Hughes, Riewoldt, Schulz.....how many more medium forwards that can't play senior footy could they want.

I suppose it is the Tiges..........second round pick?:D

Schulz won't be there much longer and hughes hardly plays. There is room for another med sized forward at Richmond.

Sounds like Kenny Hunter's son Cameron... We didnt take him when it was his time to be drafted, and then didnt take him when he got delisted....
If your showing now form in the ressies, then there is no chance of being traded....

Sorry HARKER, i like your thoughs most of the time, but this one is not going to happen

From what I have seen of Hughes, and what I have seen of Edwards, I'd do a direct swap in a heartbeat.

Having said that, Hughes would then become a good player in our reserves side, and wouldn't get a game ahead of Fisher, Yarran, Cloke etc.

Has been with good club for three years now.
Two maybe......I think three is a stretch.

Yeah he's an interesting one. I would be keen to keep him for another year and get him seriously in the weights room and bulk up a bit. He's fast and has good hands. Could be the successor to Fevola maby? He'd be pretty young still right?

I actually rate Morton.

I actually rate Morton.
I rated Huges last year........Riewoldt this week......Schulz a few years back.

The Tiges have a knack (see Deledio) of taking very good players and turning them to crrap.

That said, if these guys are playing well and bucking the trend of becoming hacks, all the more reason why the only club Edwards could be traded to would be Freo.
