Jake King

I heard rumours last week that he was injured? whats the deal. Bowden has to go, and I feel that Jake King has been slightly under-rated on these boards considering he is playing well as a premium back. Before I pick him up though, what are everyone's thoughts?

really reckon this guys is the real deal. my fear was that when bowden came back into the defence his numbers would decrease, but as bowden is now being groomed to be a forward theirs no real reason why he shouldn't be pulling good numbers. imo he's turned a corner in his career away from 'that short guy with abit of tallent' to an out and out dt and real life gun.

How risk averse are you? King *may* score you 10 more ppg, but Goddard has an established rep, and it doesn't seem like the Saints are going to change his role. At Richmond, who knows what role they'll be playing... we've had Deledio as a forward, Richo as a winger, Bowden as a forward...

I'd go Goddard for two reasons:
1. You're buying low instead of high. Only one way to go when you're at a skyhigh price, and that's down. All about value for money.
2. I don't like to muck around in the backline - keep it dependable and play riskier in the mids and forwards.

there is only 40k difference in price between Goddard and King...

I cannot see King slowing down, the extra 10 points per game is worth it.

Goddard is yet to go anywhere near 100 points this season.

Goddard has averaged 75.33 from four games, King has averaged 95.63 from six games.

I think a lot of people are scared by King's price increase... I personally think it will only go higher.

Has a b/e of 88 looking to max out at around $384k if he stays on par with is average. Wont go too much higher. Definetely looks like a much better improved player this year, with Bowdens exclusion looks to have become the new set up man from defense. Not entirely sure he can keep up his 95 average but looks set for an 85+ points a game for the rest of the year.
