So to get back to my original point, I salute the club on securing these guys for this season plus another three full seasons, but let's really roll the dice, sign these A-graders up for 7 years. Really, what do we have to lose? Another 60 odd years of watching other teams win it all.

Geelong did this in a similar manner - they signed a flaky, inconsistent half forward flanker to a long term deal at just below AFL average salary, more than he was worth in his first year.
His name as Gary Ablett Jnr.

Tom Boyd will be on average no 1 KPF coin in the final 5 years of his contract (or slightly below), and we've just extended the contracts of our VC, Dahl, Macrae & Stringer after extending Bonti last year.
I'm pretty comfortable with how our list is being managed.
