Let him go away for a few days to get his head right, Lord Howe Island is stunning and has poor WiFi I hear. Then he can come back and hang with his kids for a while away from the football environment.
Then play VFL for a few weeks, and by the end of the year he could be playing quality AFL football again (as a forward, he ain't a mid).

He isn't a mid's arseh*le, apart from maybe the occasional burst. Just doesn't have the endurance.

Just tell him to find the big sticks, by hook or by crook. Best tactic with him, IMO.
