Not all that long ago I was laughed at when I said the doggies were on par with GWS when it came to their young talent.

Clearly they don't have the same depth as GWS but what they have is top shelf. Their drafting has been impeccable and their older players seem reinvigorated by the talent they're playing alongside. I can't see them falling out of the top eight this year.

Who said the Dogs don't have the depth of GWS?

GWS have lost Boyd, Treloar, Adams, Tyson, Hombsch, O'Rourke, Plowman, Jaksch, Bruce and sort of McCarthy. I've always argued that they were given so many picks to begin with so this could happen without crippling them.

Their list is OK but their team does fall away after the best 22. I'd say Dogs and GWS have pretty comparable lists.

so I assume you will be getting a flag by 2018 before half of those named leave for more cash?

They'll get more cash at the dogs, Boyd's contract will have mostly been paid by then.

It's all going to be ok mate

I think the most pleasing this from a dogs perspective is that we had to draft our players after GC and GWS made their selections first. So it really hasn't been an ideal time to rebuild considering those teams have had first bite of the pie and dominated them drafts but we've really seemed to do well out of it.
Stringer was pick 4, Macrae pick 5, Bont Pick 4, we got lucky with Libba and Wallis though who were FSS, Dahl was a rookie pick, Johannisen was a rookie pick. Just to tame a few.

As far as the actual thread goes, this guy could be anything really. Strong, smart, bit of toe and genuine X factor. Imagine if he hadn't broken his leg. May have gone even higher in the draft

Easily would have been number 1 in 2012 if not for his injury. People actually thought that he would fall out of the top ten entirely and slide to Geelongs first pick who wanted him.

Really looking forward to seeing Jake (not fuking Jesse) playing this season. I am confident he will take it to another level with another good preseason under his belt.

Would like to hear the opinions on who people would prefer, Stringer or Hogan? I think Jake is the hottest young prospect.

Don't want to hear it from Bulldogs or Melbourne supporters.

Stringer but he has a couple of years development on Hogan.

Hogan in a heartbeat but I rate Stringer highly. You can build a side around someone like Hogan IMO. Stringer is more mercurial and has X factor. Hogan is a brut!!!!!
