People seriously over rate Matt Crouch on this board. At this point is a very average footballer. His positives are he can find the pill but thats about where it ends. His disposal is some of the worst I have seen, he lacks in second efforts, and his decision making isn't much better. At this point Crouch is a poor mans Matty Connell. Aish is a class above and by the end of the year Aish will be on the same level as a Brad Crouch if Brissy give him the opportunity.

Before you start delivering cheap shots, maybe consider the guy couldnt raise his arms above his shoulders for starters and no amount of healing was ever going to fix that, he has built up scar tissue over years and years. Who cares if every Club was chasing for him, the guy was well passed his best. The fact remains he struggled badly in his time at the Crows.

My issue was not recruiting him, but the fact that we said no to Pavlich ahead of him, even with hindsight I was not at the time thinking this was the best move for the AFC, the fact that Pavlich had a better time compared to Carey over that period vindicates this. I dont have a problem with the draft picks given up for him as we were in a premiership window at the time and the sacrifice needed to be made.

Of course Carey was a champion, he was however a shadow of his best when he arrived in Adelaide.

Its not a cheap shot. You're borrowing second and third opinion.

I asked if knowing where Carlton is where it is now, if they wished they let Gibbs go and got themselves pick #8 in this years draft and got someone like Peter Wright in the draft. Not enough they said, he's worth a top 4 pick.

If not, they should be.

Another great game from Aish today....

One has to wonder if he is really trying. Whether he has made his mind up or not about leaving, it's not very professional from James.

Wonder how his team mates feel about him if he has decided to skip out? Could be messing with his head.

If you knew an important player in your team was leaving, would that make you happy?

I think a number of his teams mates would be passed off. Like he is deserting them.

WTF?

I said the way it stands at the moment. I said he is a very average footballer at the moment. Of course he can improve over the coming years and break into our side consistently. CEY is a perfect example of this. However to suggest M Crouch and Aish are on the same level at this point in time are laughable. Aish comes staright into our best 22 if we land him. There is a reason Crouch slipped to us at pick 21. He had disposal queries and fitness queries. Both are still really evident.

Talk about putting words in someones mouth.

I'm starting to wish we hadn't traded Bernie for this guy. I understand the rationale behind it but if M Crouch was that good why is he never in the team? He's had enough time already.

Rockliff would be boiling on the inside

This. He has been very outspoken at every opportunity regarding their exodus. Mind you it's never the club and the rubbish environment is it Rocky ??

The knock on recruiting him was his fitness. Takes more than one pre season to build that up. Plus it could be the stuff we don't see that is keeping him out. Perhaps defensive positioning, things like that.

Haven't seen Aish play before so watched the Lions game. I assumed he was the sub for the first 20 mins. Truly awful performance.

Looked completely disinterested.

M.Crouch got injured during the pre season so that wouldn't of helped his fitness. The emergence of CEY has kept our other inside midfielders out.

Too early to say he won't be that good tho.

Aish clearly doesn't want to be in Brisbane. And to be honest my memory of draft day was not of a kid ecstatically happy about being drafted by the Lions. Surely clubs actually ask players (and do some digging) if they really want to play there? I know you can;t "draft tamper" by saying you won;t play for a certain club, but you get the feeling the Lions knew Aish didn't prefer to go to them but they hoped they'd win him over.

Kind of sounds like a certain situation with some guy named Tippett, boy was i glad we weren't the club who made that mistake.
