NORTH Melbourne president James Brayshaw says he cannot understand how Collingwood's Tyson Goldsack has escaped a fine over another betting scandal involving the reigning premier.

''You've got the captain of the Collingwood Football Club, who has been fined heavily for doing something that 17 games earlier, a teammate did exactly the same thing and has been absolved of any responsibility,'' Brayshaw said on Channel Nine's The Footy Show yesterday.

Hmmm... Except that Goldsack started in the backline and there was no 'inside information' at all.

I cannot understand how Brayshaw has escaped from being turfed out as the worst, wishy-washy president ever to have sat his useless arse in a Presidential seat.

Heater made his own bed and I have no issue with his penalty apart from being a little harsh given the actual circumstance.
Maxwell however simply mentioned a selection decision to a relative.
If his fine and the subsequent exaggeration of the offence in the media are both deserved then the actions of Trent West, who leaked selection information to Bruce Macaveny, should be dealt with in exactly the same manner.
Any player who leaks any detail of selection should suffer the same penalty.

What's good for the Goose and all that.

He was hardly saying Goldsack should be in trouble, he was basically saying Maxwell shouldn't have been.

The sack started on the bench too.

I was going from The Age's coverage - do you mean to say his tone was different when he was on the Sunday Footy Show?

And yeah, I meant structurally The Sack was Back - it's not like his inclusion was a huge tactical secret a-la Maxy's.

I read it same as Hoggy, the Age subeditor just penned a ridiculous headline. Seemed JB was just having a go at the inconsistency of the AFL.

Your allowed to disclose inside infomation... u just cant use that infomation to then bet

*edit I personally think Brayshaw hasn't done a bad job, kept the club in Melbourne, starting to get them on the right track financially with the tassy deal.

LOL

Know what you mean about mother, my partner is a shinboner from way back and thinks the sun rises and sets on him

Actually there are many gay men who think that the sun rises and sets up....well I cant say anymore....my mother might be reading this

Aside from this recent grab for some air time, what has Brayshaw ever done?
Has he made a single decision which has furthered his club?
Has he come up with one single original idea or initiative which could be seen to helped drag North from it's seemingly natural position as a perennial struggler?

I defy anyone, North supporters included to explain what it is that gives Brayshaw a right to question anything AFL related.
Honestly when he wrested control of the club I thought he would be good for North. Have some real effect on their club, but now after a few years I can see he is nothing more than an Eddie wanna be clone with stars in his eyes as nothing to offer. He barely gets by even on the Footy Show. The only reason the media quote him is that he is the bloke sitting, ignored, in the corner of their own office. Does he even have a job outside one Eddie handed down to him on the footy show?
He is the Zeta Male of Club presidents, media personalities....even the ones who say nothing.
He's barely fit to pick Eddie's nits.
