@AFL_Luke: James Gwilt to return from a knee injury with Sandringham this week. Full story up soon on http://t.co/fqJl21s6. @stKildafc

Article says stuff all really!!

ST KILDA defender James Gwilt will make his return from a knee reconstruction in the VFL on Sunday.

A St Kilda official confirmed on Wednesday that Gwilt will play for VFL team Sandringham against Williamstown at Trevor Barker Oval.

Gwilt has not played at any level since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in last year's round 17 win over West Coast at Eithad Stadium.

He underwent a full reconstruction but will make his return after a nine month absence.

Reckon James Gwilt will play 2 weeks in VFL & return to take on Hawthorn in Round 6. Might need him to tackle Buddy, Roughead, Hale, Gunston.

THE FRO!

Cannot wait to see him put back into this current team I felt he was coming along in leaps and bounds in 2010-11 and was cut down cruelly by injury. I hope he hasn't missed a beat just like Lenny.

Great news, could definitely do with him for that tough run of games we have coming up in a couple of weeks.

Hopefully he gets through the next couple of games in the VFL without any setbacks and is right to go.

hopefully Lenny has shown him what to do.

Scott Watters on James Gwilt return to VFL this weekend at todays press conference:

“He’s loved by whole group, and he’s a key player in our structure. So going forward whether it’s two, three or four weeks, to get someone of his quality back will be a real boost to side.

“I think he will be pretty close within that {to return to AFL within a month}. Obviously we’ll see how he pulls up after playing his first game, but we are hoping he progresses really well over next fortnight or so.”
