Injury. IIRC he only missed for 6 weeks in the second half of the year.

Was very worried about him coming straight back in after missing so many weeks but he has looked the goods!

With his return Geelong's backline has looked better. Good job to get back and play well after missing so many games. Under rated player by many, even on this pro-Geelong board.

I liked his game against the Pies but he did make a few errors I thought. Will be better for the last 2 runs - and should play an integral part of the backline that denies St. Kilda a flag.

I think what he has done has been very significant. He has allowed Joel Corey to go back in the guts, get in and under and get those customary clearances, which in turn releases pressure on GAJ and Selwood. It has also meant we can throw Bartel around in a pinch hitting role, for example up forward. As much as anyone his return has balanced up this side, and we should be very happy he is back and firing.
