His last goal in the Freo final was really overlooked for how good it was. As the game was 'over', the commentators were rabbiting on about other stuff, but the don't argue, followed by back spinning through two tacklers, one two handball and slotted it was a thing to behold.

not gunna lie, i was a bit skeptical when he first came to port, but i am so very excited about polec this year. he just seems such a pure footballer. he's one of the players who when i see it in his hands, i feel like i can just relax
I will admit I was the same, I had a a huge question mark over his mental strength and commitment. BUT, I was NEVER in doubt of his skills & potential, nor of the quality of this club and the coaches to embrace him and get the best out of him. I did have lower expectations, thinking it might take a year or so for him to get it all together, so his immediate impact was just such massive thrill to see, and had a huge part in our success over the first have of the season. Cant wait to see his 2015 form!!

Everytime i see that goal, it reminds me of pendlebury. So smooth getting out of traffic.

Polly is our Jackson McRae..

both have the potential to be 'elite' players of the competition.

Always been a fan. Even when he was at Brisbane.

i've always said this as well. that was freakishly good & had it been someone like pendlebury it would have been showed a thousand times

One day we should have a tribute nostalgia thread bumping all the best posts from the people who scoffed at recruiting Brad Ebert and Jared Polec.

Then we'll hold a vote and the winner gets my anti-KT "HOW DID BERT LOOKAS KNOW" pitchfork.

Did it ever, out of his seat watching the monitor and riding every twist and turn
before Jarred, on the run, took dead aim on goal to put the icing on the cake.
The fist pumping showed how much affection and admiration Ken has for him.

This. This so much. It was such a fantastic goal. I was in shock and filled with joy simultaneously when he kicked it. It was obviously overlooked due to Wingard's incredibly 4th Quarter goal, but make no mistake, it was equally impressive. Especially against the "grown men of Fremantle." Breaking their tackles aren't easy.

I also loved how he just waltzed around Sandilands effortlessly. :D

This deserves 100 likes and 50 quotes.
remember being upstairs at the club and this was the goal that got people up on the tables

.... well, I was on the table

I notice you left our old favourite Jay Schulz out of that post, can't imagine why ;)

Lol. Schulzy. At 25 and with 7 seasons of putrid exposed form under his belt his transformation to elite FF is roughly the equivalent of Danny Meyer - #ourdanny - becoming an All-Australian with us.

Needs to hit the score board more to become elite in 2015.

17 goals 19 behinds in 2014 for Polec. For a man born with a leg like his this is a real area of his game he could work on. More than a few times I remember him hitting the post or narrowly missing from 40-50m out on the run. Going at almost a goal a game is a good effort for a young mid but it shouldn't be too hard to turn those figures around in 2015.

As a junior he was deadly in front of goals, especially on the run. As he gains experiance and his body matures, i have little doubt he will become deadly again.

I found myself willing him to take the responsibility on himself throughout games, but time and time again he would hit up the leading forward. It's a team game, but I know the wingmen who really create headaches hit the scoreboard regularly. Would love for him to return something along the lines of 25.20 or similar this year! Average a goal-goal and a half a game would be ideal!

His goal against Richmond n the first quarter is one that resonates with me. Not so much the way the goal was scored but the sound of football hitting the boot followed by crowd roar was just awesome.

Dennis Cometti's BANG helped that moment for the TV audience

I thought I was the only one that was astounded at this individual brilliance. Top post!

I was in Greece for that game, I listened to it online but couldn't watch it. Your post made me go back to the replay (again) to find it. I needed some alone time after that, my god
