Certainly don't need this bullshit leading up to a game we HAVE to win.
Don't forget ... he is not a free agent .. Port have the upper hand ... If any club does not meet what Port want ... well ...
He can go in the draft and Carlton can have him ... Remember this happened to another ex Port player ..
If no trade happens and Polec delist himself and goes into the draft, what salary will he get? Is it like a first year player or can he negotiate value of the contract?

Shaun Atley and a second round draft pick or something I think would be about right?
Keep joe atley at the club and gain some talent and hope Shaun can turn into that run and gun that Polec is right now

If he does decide to go to North, I reckon their first pick this year and Shaun Atley coming back the other way would be a great outcome.
Joe Atley is just another mid with very questionable disposal. We've already got more than enough of them so I wouldn't be trading to keep him happy.

All his call. Can be manipulated to see the player gets to his club of choice but in Polecats case Carlton just pay whatever and he's their's.

If he's in it for the money then he'll be motivated to play his arse off and add every cent he can to his next contract.
It's an open year and we've got a premiership to try to win, we're not dropping one of our best players out of spite.

He can name his price. Some teams will not pay it, some will.
I cant see Carlton giving up Pick 1 for Polec though. Draft is too good. He could still find his way to North
