His best is certainly stand out quality don't kid yourself there if I was a North fan I'd be more worried that the Port fitness staff have had a say in being careful about contract length with his navicular history.

Where I'm going is you made a big call on what it would cost to get these 4 players in, I called you out on it and your answer didn't add up. It now appears, given you immediately contradicted it that the post I replied to was poorly worded by you.

BTW - your follow up post where you actually tried to construct a trade, valued Polec at 20. That value is too low, and I suspect you've based it on what points you need for other trades rather than what he's worth. At least you have conceded 9 has to come our way.

That's the luck of the draw mate. Sometimes it falls your way & sometimes it doesn't.

We got Higgins for nothing as an injury basket case and look at him now.

We'll do our due diligence if a trade arises and live with the consequences.

If you think something is worth $20 bucks and that's it, do you walk away from $25 bucks, because I think it's worth $40 bucks but won't pay you more than $25? If that's the case you should never bother getting in to business.

I don't have the clubs B&F leaderboards but for the last 4 years I've done a top 5 votes on every game.

I've got him as our 4th best player this season so far based on the voting system we have.
2017 I had him 2nd.
2016 I had him 7th.
2015 was a poor year I had him 19th.
2014 I didn't do any votes that year but Macca19 had him 7th best.

Okay. You may not have factored in the 20% discount.

Polec & pick 33 to North for pick 9.

Hall hasn't even been offered a contract by GC, so basically he will be our pick 53 at the most.

North's points = 1807 points

Thomas bids at 10, Bailey Scott bids at 30 = 1958 points - 20% F/S academy discount = 1566 points, so there is still plenty of wriggle room.

The very worst case scenario is we have to cough over some 2019 2nd round points for Bailey Scott.

Be careful about making presumptions on an opposition team board. You are welcome to discuss the issue sensibly here.

But you have no idea what getting Rockliff/Motlop/Watts into the club has done in relation to our salary cap. You don't know what they are paid or anything about our salary cap situation. Speculating about that is off topic and just designed to inflame opinion.

Likewise you don't know Port's offer - which is still being negotiated - nor the reasoning behind the offer.

Polec has had a standout year this year and if he is not leading the BnF, he would be in the top 3. He has had an injury history that has affected previous performance but our medical staff have handled him superbly to get him back to his best level of fitness.

yer its been stated many times we have cap space to target someone even if polec was to sign. defiantly not the case at all.....
If it was someone like Pittard or our glut of HBFs would be on the chopping block

How do our trades last year affect this?? I don’t think the problem is that we can’t pay him it’s that it would be irresponsible to give him 5 years. His career was on a knifes edge 2 years ago with an injury that has cut down many. Have fun with that , I’m sure playing every second week at the dome will only help his foot.
