If true, I'd be against giving him 5 years. Why not just bump up the offer by 100k and if that doesn't work he can go.

I assume he meant to a similar standard as Polec, given that he was talking about Brown as one of five gun key forwards who is 25 (or under too, I guess) in the league.

Because if he gets to x amount and then has to start naming guys of questionable quality in relation to Polec it will prove our points and hurt his.

That’s in all likelihood why he has bailed.
