I think Scott said yes and it could be 3 weeks.
Very conclusive there I know :)

bad time for injury as well, we have a tough month ahead, Richmond, Essendon, Collingwood and then Port Adelaide...all the current top 8 sides.

No Rivers will now restrict Taylor from shifting further up the ground as he has done this season thus far.

Footscore , I think Hawkins comes back he will revert to only running forward rather than lining up there. But he is becoming such a weapon , I cant see them want to stop getting forward. It may mean them getting another defender in the side , till then Pods will run back and cover him as per the first few rounds.

I see Hamling kicked another bag today. I wonder if he will tempt them V Richmond. Certainly not the hardest defense in the AFL

Yes more bad injury news for us. Will be missed - but he will be back. Give him a month off and let him get really right. Have a good back end to the season - all the time learning our style/ways - and he will be a decent player for us come finals. Just a bummer with all these injuries we get another.

River need to get himself right or he will find out what its like to play for a good side in the finals with him in it.

I am not sure what you are trying to say there Turbo due to the bad grammar.
You don't want to try again do you?

I hate it when its clear in ones head but it come out like mud. Lets see I can be a little better.

If he continues to gather injuries , if he fails to properly recover from injuries , come back early and gather more injuries, his place in the side will become tenuous. Players that are injury prone are such a risk, causing a side to use early subs etc.

Perhaps even to the point that come finals time , he may be on the list of a club participating in the finals but he will not playing in them. He will be watch from the stands like he has so many times when at Melbourne.

Agree with what your saying but I thought he looked proppy against the Swans although he played Ok.
This time round he needs to be 100% right even if it means a few games in the VFL.
The fact he was brought back early does not auger well for Brown I'm afraid.

Those PCL knees are never PERFECT. They always need to strapped, although they are never as bad as ACL's, and rarely need reconstructions. Playing VFL will not get it 100% any easier than AFL.

And from what I heard it was the same knee but this is now not PCL related - or at least it was a different event to the same knee.

Havent seen anything official yet but I imagine that it will be a week or two. And as VD said, PCL in injury sense whilst not good is of the poorer cousin to the ACL. Can be played with with damaged.....

Oh FFS.

Not another one.

Really?!?!

Can we get a break on the injury front and I don't mean a bone version....

If ever this was Mitch Brown's chance here it is. He can go play 3rd tall and pull a bit of HT if needed.

But for the love of God wish we didn't have the need for it....

Talk about adversity....

Turbo , I think you will find Rivers has been very durable over his career at the Dees - has rarely missed games according to my Demon following mates.

Well, it appears his knee is not going well at all, could face upto 2 months on the sideline. This is really annoying me now, varcoe gone, menzel gone again, rivers gone again with his knee. Hopefully we have some luck with Vardy and HMac, don't want those 2 to get injured again.

Yeah I thought a month would be the go for Rivers to get right - maybe a bit longer. Bugger but he will be back and I suppose JHunt and Brown will get their chances. Pity we have so many big games coming up.

It's a big blow to our preferred set-up, but I think we should look at the silver lining here. Firstly, with Lonergan, Taylor and (to a lesser extent) Mackie, I don't think there's many better than us for tallish defenders, Rivers, or no Rivers (Guthrie played on Stringer last week as well and was pretty good, so we have options). And, as mentioned, it gives a golden opportunity to Brown, Walker and maybe Bathie to put their hand up. This is the opportunity they've been hanging out for.

I'll panic if and when Lonergan or Taylor goes down before Rivers gets back.

Fair to say our mature pick-ups haven't exactly been a raging success so far, but it's too early to put that down to anything besides bad luck.

Kid is quite quick too.

Not good news, hope we didn't cause it by bringing him back too early?

The one area of the ground where we don't have good cover so will be an issue for a while. Really puts the onus on Brown to step up, and he is not filling me with confidence atm (nor MC it seems).

TBH, if Vardy was ready, think they'd put him forward and Pods back until Rivers is right again, but given Vards clearly needs a lot more 2's time, Brown will have to step up.

Hamling is zero chance of playing defense, not strong enough yet, did ok NAB cup but would be terribly exposed against Riewoldt, Vickery or McGuane as they have a good 4/5 seasons in the gym over him.

Brown will play and should be more than capable if given a chance at playing consecutive matches in a row.
I'd suspect he will play on McGuane as Brown's pretty quick for a tall guy.

We will wait and see but I doubt it,with Hawkins and Chappy to come back into the side their still got to lose one besides Rivers to make room. And then just a quick shuffle of the deck chairs down back and that will be it.

Don't worry about it Turbo. I struggled a bit after Saturday nights' game and a few celebratory beers too.
