Jarrad Blight?

Does anyone know what the deal is with Jarrad Blight??

He does not appear on the injury list and also does not appear in the weekly comments from the VFL coaches regarding AFL listed players?

Surely he is not sitting at home of a weekened?

I heard he picked up some sort of minor injury and is out for a couple of weeks. Also some scuttlebut that he's homesick and doesn't like living in Melbourne.

Well that was my major concern when I didn't cite his name on any updates, that he had become home sick as predicted at the start of the season and was therefore having some issues there.

Would be a shame if it doesn't work out for him at our club considering his talent.

Well Didaka has Said that he is Loving it in Melbourne and Quite Happy.


Though as people say his name is not listed as Injured. If he is not homesick something else must be happening with Blight. If it is a Small Injury then why is it not listed on Pies Injury List.

I don't know Excaly what's wrong but Hope he is back soon

Yeh obviously I have no idea what would and what wouldn't be right, but hopefully he has adjusted to life in Melbourne and that is of no concern whatsoever. As was posted on here after the draft there were initial concerns about his willingness to make the move, when I couldn't see his name anywhere I became intrigued.

Considering his talent and the promising pre season he had it would surely just be that they have left him off the injury list by accident? He'd have to be playing VFL if he was right?

My comment was made under the assumption that the statement was correct. Something everyone is entitled to, to make their own conclusions and assumtions and then present their opinion on the subject matter.

Whoah - everyone relax. Let's not turn on one another over a simple thread. Regardless of whether its true, rubbish or somewhere in the middle. Let's try and remain civilised.

We're a passionate club as can be seen by Malthouse at Q time last weekend or Eddie any time he opens his mouth so lets not go jumping down a fellow supporters throat just because he voices a little concern and perhaps unwarranted angst over a rumour.

Given that he's known to have been sick earlier in the year, sitting out VFL practice matches and the like, and he's not on the injury list; maybe he's suffering from an illness such as glandular fever?

Maybe there are legal reasons why the club seems to have no information about him or his whereabouts.

So someone at Big Footy says he is homesick and we are supposed to believe it and then criticise a young kid based on rumour? I've read some ridiculous crap from opposition supporters about our players and club but to rubbish a player based on innuendo is a joke.

i read that too Timmy, never assumed it would be jarrad,
Kev on EbW board (a knowledgable poster from WA) stated pre draft that if we drafted a certain player he'd be dissapointed because it showed we didn't do our homework in regards to his off field problems, he never mentioned the name, he did however say he was subsequently drafted but too another club. Im not sure if this is in regards to the same player or not.
Jarrad just doesn't come across as that type of kid, was a junior sailing champion etc, i know i'm judging from the outside, however i'd be surprised.

From what didaka posted last time this thread got debunked and teh collingwood turtle posted else where. Jarrad received a knock of some sort and we are taking it easy with him.

and he said he loves the club but is missing home and he hates the city.
And in his profile his like i come from WA the best State in the world but im in Melbourne atm playing for Collingwood so he really loves home but he likes Collingwood :S
i recon his had a hard time settling in and he wasn't getting much love at Training getting knocked around and no help from team mates. I felt sorry for him because he is a great player.
