Worth making a play for him at the end of the year?, doesnt strike me as the kind of player Voss would get along with too well, and would love the microscope that comes from playing Footy in Melbourne, with all likely us having the first PSD pick, could he be someone we could thief?

As much as I'd love to have him, despite the incident on the weekend he's played better this year than I've ever seen him play so Vossy would be stupid to let him go to the PSD

I'd love him but it will cost us to much imo.

We'd have to give them Sylvia or Pick 2.

Pick 2 or sylvia is wayyyyyyy steep for junk. Don't rate brennan, another player with a potential tag, but no awesomeness.

Not even Psd to be honest. Wouldn't fit the culture.

Mate Voss and Brennan get along very well actually. He loves the Lions and is one of our best players.

Brennan would cost too much, he is too established in a way - even
though he has unachieved.

If we are going to trade, we need to identify a potentially class player,
Ie: Last year, that player wouldve been Higgins or Knights, although
Knights was a touch hard to spot, but Higgins, you make a play for the
kid, because you can see that he will become a gun.

I still think McKinley from WC - although he re-signed last yr, I think he
would be a good target to chase, hasnt had a great year and mightnt
take a lot to snare him, will be a gun and mightnt get chances now that
Kennedy has stepped up and Lacras looks to be heading toward elite.

Other than McKinley, I like the look of Shaun Burgeone from Port, hasnt
re-signed with them yet - suspect he is waiting on Choco to sign - and
he might be looking for a new club, if we got a player of this calibre, we
would have to unload a couple older players.

Err Shaun is an older player ....21.10.82

And i am pretty sure Brennan was shopped around either last yr or the yr before in trade week, they only wanted 3rd round or something ...now i doubt they would take anything outside of 1st 10 picks..

Didnt realise Burgers was that old, still a gun - but your right mate,
probably not worth chasing, with where we are at..

Albert Proud would be an interesting one, I always thought he was
one of the better juniour players Id seen, might be worth testing
the waters there.

I guess its probably more of a wait and see who is looking throwing
themselves out there at the end of the year.

That could be a key point in any player we trade for or draft. Bails has done everything he can to rid us of anything bar hardworking professionals. Delisting/trading Carrol + Johnstone, plus putting Sylvia on notice, as well as dropping Robbo to make a point are just some examples. A professional, winning culture is something we've not exactly had in spades over the last few decades, and seems to be a top priority for Bailey (and I'm aware of the irony in saying Bailey is trying to bring a 'winning culture' with a 13% win/loss ratio ;)).

I cant see us trading for anyone unless a really good youngster came along cheap...

im not trolling here
but why on earth would brennan want to come to melbourne???
his currently playing in a finals team with champions like brown, black, power and bradshaw that is going to be a strong contender in a few years time. going to melbourne who are still after this season atleast two more away from playing finals...even you guys can admit that

I understand what your saying, even if Brennan did want to come to melbourne i don;t know why we would entertain the thought. For some reason on this board of late there has been a influx of people wanting to trade for players. God only knows why, draft picks are at a premium this year and we should be looking towards youth and the draft to push up the ladder.

We don't have to be serious all the time. It is quite enjoyable to talk about prospective trades, and certainly makes for some interesting discussion.

It isn't necessary to be literal all the time, some hypothetical scenarios can't hurt every so often.
