No brainier.
We gave up very little for him and he has huge upside, why wouldn't you?

JD just be careful sitting on a Pickett fence....it may not bite you on the bum, but it might get wedged up your ars..Still not sure with this kid. Heaps of potential but a long term injury. Tbh before commenting I'm gunna sit on the fence with Pickett.
He was recontracted by Gws just before his injury for a reason,he was making inroads in NEAFL and putting serious pressure on GWS 22 at time of injury in early 2016...he was under wraps.why they let him go? ok good question,he may have requested a trade,i think he did.SOS has used GWS as our recruiting ground for high end talent that either was on the fringe or injured.
Taking injured guys is a real risk especially in Picketts case. Is the risk worth the reward? If the club has done its due diligence and the reports indicate a full recovery, then this kid should be a gun and would have justified the faith the club had showed in him, and we must remember he nominated us.
The unknown could be another Daisy where there were conflicting diagnosis from various medicos and we still took a risk where the reward didn't justify the risk. This time around we have not heard many roumors as the club has become more professional and kept things very quiet.
Hopefully Pickett makes a full recovery and developes well, then the sky's the limit as the upside with this kid is enormous.
Time will tell but at this early stage it is going to be a numbers game as not every draft or trade will pay off, but in Picketts case let's hope it does.
GOOD LUCK JARROD AND GO BLUES.....
anyone know what his injury status is? will he get a full pre season in etc? can't doubt the talent, just like to know realistic expectations on timing
Lock him in for round 1 and 3 votes.

He's clearly silk when he's up and about. Who knows what we have on our hands.

There you have it. If your team mate thins you are a star, there is no denying that you are a superstar
We may not have been forced to take him. This quote's cute..
“I still think there’s plenty more to give, hopefully that’s what the Carlton Football Club saw as well in getting me here".
He's under the impression that we weren't forced to take him?![]()
