So whats the story with this guy? Port has given him a second chance but no one over here seems to know much about him.

Is he likely to make it?? Knowing Ports history with recycled players, they are likely to play him for atleast 3 or 4 games this year, and if he takes his change, probably closer to a dozen.

Any feedback on him?

Yeah he is rated by most supporters. Speedy Wingman who didn't get any chances despite being one of the best players in 2007 and 2008.

Won the Best and Fairest this year for the VFL team, which shows he might have been a bit unlucky not getting a game this year. Its hard when the seniors were winning every week though.

His highlight of his career would be his round 15 game in 2007 against Port Melbourne in the VFL. Booted eight goals playing mainly off a wing.

Disposal killed him at times. Good player, will never be a star but will contribute.

i dont think we'd expect him to be a superstar. But we need a bit of a blue collar worker who will get down and dirty and do his role. Perhaps a smaller player but with a hard body who can scrap at the bottom of a back. Is he that sort of player? Or is he more of a "flashy" receiver type player?

Actually now that i think of it... we got rid of Lonie... so perhaps they have recruited him soley as a wingman.

He is your typical get the job done player, but does have flashes of brilliance. This is at VFL level though, so I'm not sure if he will take it to the next level. He is more outside than in, but does have an inside part to his game.

I always thought he would do well if he got a senior game at Geelong, as we had plenty of 'inside' players to get the ball out to him.

Not sure if Port have that though. I thought Port needed some more inside players, not another outside one.

Thanks for the feedback from everyone.

For sure we are craving some inside players. interestingly he was interviewed on the Adelaide Channel7 news last night. He is being mentored by David Rodan - for obvious reasons. Didnt seem as big bodied as i was hopeing.

Hopefully he take his chance and can play some consistent football in our team. At 23 he'll have to have an impact straight away or he'll be gone next year.

I was really looking forward to his possible chances with us in 09. Pretty shat that he was delisted, as was the case with Tim Callan, now a dog, but a previous cat father-son. Davenport is super quick and can find the goals, but was starved of opportunities in a team that left Gamble out of its best 22. Hope he goes well, except against us.
