Jason Roe showed some good signs on occasion as a key defender with Brisbane. His game against hawthorn down on tassie was very good late in the year. Worth considering as a defensive backup option? Would cost nothing and an experienced big body in case scarlo or H go down...??

I think Drum has been brought in for the immediate backup , I doubt will look beyond the players currently training with us for an other recycles.

I would like Roe at the club, but as Turbocat points out I think thats what Drum is for... Although I would rate Roe higher than Drum from my limited viewing.

My only memory of Roe was when Mooney was standing the mark and Roe balked a handball around him and ran round Mooney to play on. Mooney didn't lift a finger to stop him. And why should he, Roe was kicking in after a behind and immediately got pinged for crossing the 10 metre line .

It was funny, I was on the live chat (afl website) with Clayton today and some guy asked 'heard Freo are looking for an experienced ruckman to backup Sandilands and Clarke and they really rate Cloke....is he a chance at pick 4?' needless to say, I nearly choked on my sandwich
