As much as i love the way schultz plays i would really want to know where you guys want jay schultz to play next year.

CHF (Richo at FF)
FF (Richo at CHF)
CHB
FB
CHF (Richo at Carlton)

WHEN WILL YOU GUYS REALISE J SCHULZ IS OVER RATED HE IS NOT THAT BLOODY GOOD DROPS TO MANY MARKS TRADE HIM :p

CHF , Richo is to long in the tooth and injury prone to play up the ground any more , as well as not having a footy brain.

People Knocking Schultz are not true students of the game if you ask me, Talls never come on quickly and take longer to develop . he is only in his second year and has not had a good run with injuries . Given a real coach and a bit more experience he could be an exciting prospect . To me he just looks and moves like a footballer

I'd like to give him a good tryout at CHB first. He goes hard at the ball and doesn't mind knocking a few blokes over. Put him at half back where he can run at the ball, split some packs and get a good education of the basics in the process. If he shows he has developed enough footy smarts throw him into the key half forward spot then.

I'm not sure that he reads the play well enough just yet for CHF. Then again, with our current game plan Royce Hart would struggle for kicks at CHF. The only time the ball seems to travel through the true centre half forward postion is when the opposition is switching play from one of their back flanks to the other.

It was Schulz. Wallace has since been asked about this and his comments can be found in this thread
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126620

here's some;
"Re his previous comment on Schulz, he said that when he made the comment, he didnt appreciate that Schulz was so young and had played so few games."

hmm sounds like he's covering his behind. how old did he think schulz was??

If he doesnt think someone will make the grade then I guess thats what we are paying for. Someone to make the change before we waste time with a player and listen to the PR guys tell us how they are comming along nicely. Royce Vardy for instance.

He wouldnt feel committed to anything he has said on radio durring the year. No doubt his views on Shultz have changed. Big difference between needing to make a comment on radio as an expert and dealing with the realities of taking on a list where talent is rare and opportunity to get players you want to your club is limited

Schultz will be a dead set champion - he is rated highly at Richmond and won't ge going anywhere.

Finally someone talking sense!!

No wonder we get cained by opposition supporters as eating our own. Schultzy will be a superstar for our club, the way he is already breaking packs and putting his body on line which is fantastic.

Wallace wants to breed our "own" players... book in Jay for 250 plus Centre Half Forward great games.

Love the bloke. Anyone doubt this bloke's courage can go with Spud

I'd say he is a natural CHB.

He did take some forward marks and kick some goals, but his agression for the ball reminds me more of a defender, and i worry a bit about his mobility in terms of making leads.

He may end up a Jeff Hogg, and go from Forward line to backline as required.

Schulz is still a teenager and big blokes can take ages to develop.

Barry Hall only played 4 games before his 20th birthday and in those he took a total of 10 marks and kicked 2 goals. He was 22 before he kicked more than 2 goals in a match.

We have to be patient and respect the fact that Schulz won't show his true potential until his 4th or 5th year, not this year, not next.

this is a good point and i guess why he is such an exciting prospect. i guess we cant expect him to be consistently good just yet, but the signs are there and in a few years he looks likely to deliver the goods. some big guys can show something earlier, carey certainly did, lets hope he kicks along nicely but i wouldnt be thinking of putting the world on his shoulders just yet.
