These 6 are locked in for the TDF - Matthews, Plapp, O'Connor, O'brien, Schmid and Durbridge.
O'Brien lead out for Schmid/Bling?

The team is targetting the TTT which on a flat course they would definitely be top 3 but with the two short climbs you need to be 15 or 20 seconds clear of Pogacar and the UAE. Anyway the team has four potential stage winners in Bling, Schmid, O'Connor and Plapp.

I’m sure this young Belgian sprinter will end up on a higher level team, but Jayco should be throwing their hat in to the ring.

Winning and securing solid top 10’s against WT competition.

I suspect jayco will have another go at extricating Welsford from his contract.

This could be a barren Giro for Jayco losing Vendrame who i reckon could have won stage 2. Their only chance to win a stage is Englehardt who is in shape but will need luck.

Schmid to Q36.5 which is a blow for jayco. I don't understand this transfer as Schmid will be competeting with Pidcock for leadership.

Big blow. Scary time obviously with Gerry Ryan’s comments about the future.
Budget wise with the recent losses of Yates, Groenewegen & now Schmid, there should be a decent budget for sprinter & GC rider?

Yikes.

What happens if Jayco can't secure the required funding whilst they have a world tour licence?
I have heard teams can just 'buy' the licence?
ie. Q 36.5 just buying the WT licence off Jayco and Jayco would effectively fold?

Who would Jayco target

Finn Fisher Black? He's probably underperformed for his abilities
Corbin Strong? More of a sprinter and less of a climber, but similar style rider to Schmid

It would be hard to think whether any good young riders would want to commit given uncertain future with this team.

The team is funded until 2028, so no problems on that front. Yes, gerry will sell the licence and my favorite is Q 36.5. The team was unhappy with Schmid's decision as they matched the money. On the same day they announced the upgrading of Appleton to the women's team and the renewal of double. If you want to know jayco's feelings then read sentence one, paragraph 2 of the press release. Anyway, jayco strongly linked to Vernon.

I don’t blame schmid if jayco will be disbanded by end of 2028.

He got an extra year at 36.5 than jayco could offer. An extra guaranteed 2 million is nothing to sniff at.

Not sure where to read this formal press release. Nothing on Jayco website or 36.5 website. Any chance you could share?

In another note I found it a little amusing the men’s team had 14 masseus. But the organisation had only 2 logistics people. The logistics people must work seriously hard!

Jayco will not be dismantled. Its licence will be bought out. The formal press release was Double's renewal which contained an interesting sentence and that it was announced on the same day as Schmid.

Vernon would be a great signing if it eventuates. Which GC rides could Jayco potentially look at for next season?

Vernon off the table. Jayco need to get cobbled riders and target GC hopefuls who have been pro's for between 2 to 4 years.
