And as for him being Hawthorn president….it’s a fantastic thing for the hawks. Very lucky.

_Ron_ said:You'll find poorer people and less educated people voted him out because all they could see was him closing things down and selling off government run business to private enterprise etc. Some people think it's ok for the government to provide everything regardless of the strain that puts on the economy.
The reality was he was streamlining things and bringing Victoria back out of the red into a financial powerhouse. That in turn brings more jobs and business etc.. A lot of people will never get this even if you explain it to them in baby talk. His problem at the time he was premier was he was to direct, not subtle enough. He didn't smile and sit on the fence like virtually every other politician does so in turn sectors of the public grew to hate him. Now we have Brax and all he does is smile, sit on the fence and spend, spend, spend and charge the public for things the government should provide free of charge.
Anyway that's how i see things.

Be happy Howard is leading the nation. Notice how we have plenty of jobs and money these days. Life is good right now if you work for it..DonsRule said:Basicly what I though. It's easy to be a 'Great' Govenment when someone else laid the financial groundwork for you. Not a dig at Bracks, has done a great job, but I wonder how he'd go handel what Kennett had to handle?

He may slip something about the scum and banjo's and open a can of worms, I cant wait.
Seeing how he treated "Shawy" and Harvey its a positive sign, get ready to jump on the bandwagon if there is a man that can lead us to the ultimate glory it is he.
No they havent, we are 14th in AFL handouts, we have a 20 000 000 dollar facility we are one of 3 clubs that own our home grounds not the council, we have 2 home bases. The Wizard said:Hawthorn aren't a financial powerhouse. There are about 3 financial powerhouses in Victoria & that's it.
We will make it up through memberships and gates next year, 35 000 members and 45 000 gates here we comeHAWKS HEROES said:it was not $1,000,000 it is only $250,000 it is not that bad
Absolute rubbish! $250,000 could be paid out our petty cash float. Ian Dicker actually had a smile on his face when he announced the loss, relieved it was so much smaller than expected. The Wizard said:Hawthorn aren't a financial powerhouse. No? West Coast, Brisbane and Adelaide have the best facilities in the land (to be overtaken soon by Hawthorn and Footscray by the sounds of it) and its served them okay.Contra Mundum said:Money cannot produce culture!
