Jesse Hogan Contract Negotiations (Titus O'Reilly)

It's certainly a lot better than him signing a 5 year contract which is what I was expecting. We get to keep our first rounders for the next couple of years and can continue building our young list via the draft and become a very attractive destination for free agents wanting to come home :)

What did he say? Ah yes, Hogan was an absolute 'lock' to come home.

schmuttt you've been such a trooper on our board - I'm really pleased for you personally. Always knew you had nothing to worry about but in your situation I'd have worried as much as you did. Congrats and good luck:thumbsu:

You were very keen on getting a good deal for him. Disappointed?

Of course not. I'll be honest I'm pretty stunned, sure this isn't a long deal but speculation goes away for another two years and lets Jesse see how we go under Goodwin. Hogans media performances never left me convinced he was committed either, but looks like rather than not being committed he is just awkward in front of a camera.

Thanks mate, definitely was a bit of pessimism in my posts because I'm so used to it. Dockers have always been one of my favourite non-demon teams so whilst I never wanted Jesse to go I'd rather he go to Freo than some campaigner club in vic or those flogs you share WA with (Declaring public interest in a player after you cracked it when Essendon did it? **** off).

Best of luck in 2017 friends :)

So does put Hogan in to RFA territory once three years has passed?

Big summer required from Apeness now!
If he is in the top 25% of the players paid at Melbourne FC, yes.

If you can think of 10 players who are paid more than him, then he is unrestricted.

Three years is perfect timing to gear the TPP to be able to pay Hogan $2,500,000 per year for two (min restricted free agent deal is two years). In order to match the deal Melbourne's books must allow the same numbers ($5m over 2 years) or he moves.

I'm glad for your club that you kept him. Always thought that was very likely, but dared to hope recently.
Congrats.

Jesus Tayl0r you're a bloody walking encyclopledia when it comes to the draft and trading rules. I'm impressed and overawed

Looking forward to another 12 months of the amazing game of:

"LET FREO INFLATE YOUR CONTRACT BINGO"!!!

In 2019 when BOTH Lobb and Hogan come out of contract.

It's almost at the stage of putting up the "**** off we're full" sign....pretty tired of it to be honest

And hopefully our next years pick will actually coincide with a good KPF being available at our pick

Pardon the interruption, but what if he left after that initial two year contract?

...or alternatively we may be going thank **** we didn't hand over a million a year on him.
