I think Hooker's being overrated. Especially for that kind of money. Our back line's already really good. Our midfield's ridiculously stacked, and we barely have a forward line. I just think the cost of getting Hooker waaaaaayyyyyyy outweighs the benefit to the team.

Agree ,inject performance enhancement stuff, without it and a year out is he still that good?
 
How good is hooker as a forward, if Dawson and Johnson is retain are we going to waste a Pearce and Collins type in WAFL.

Then get him to replace Pav, after that just concentrate on fyfe contract and Hogan. McCarthy don't know whether he still want to play afl with Leon keeping eye on him.

A lot going on within that team that can contribute to having a down year. For one, they sucked across the park and playing in defense you get murdered or if your up forward you get starved.

Fact is, Hooker would be a significant upgrade on Dawson and Silvagni. Collins hasn't shown enough at AFL level yet.

However, flow on effect would probably mean both those players become better if Hooker was on board.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. I could see him signing a three year extension at the Dee's on big money, taking him to being a FA then leaving for the west.
 
Langdon (I know ...) just declared Hogan a certainty to return, most likely to Freo. Horrible judge (cop his top 50?), but IIRC his and B Hardie's mail is usually reasonable

There is a rumour about Freo ,Essendon and Melbourne and a deal involving Hooker to Melbourne and Hogan to Freo plus players and picks to the Dons.
Sounds far fetched but who knows.
