Hall of Famer
I would grab him without any hesitation if his Medical Tests show there is SOME chance of a full recovery from his ankle.

Any particular direction where he's heading?
Funny that a few years ago a couple of clubs didnt want Steve Johnson because they thought his ankle were stuffed. Looked what happened there. Maybe JWS could be in the same boat.

You make it sound like the Cats and Pies have their own world leading hospitals on site that are filled with specialists from every field just waiting to cure any footy ailment.I believe Brisbane is the likely destination with Geelong in the mix. I was told on the weekend he was keen to get to Geelong or Collingwood due to their Medical teams.
Fact is that Con Mitropolous would likely have access to the same range of specialists that Chris Bradshaw has.
But the Cats have the means and they spend a massive amount on their medical team. FFS they sent Rooke to Germany for a hamstring tear. They spare no expense. Same can't be said for the Roos.

Think of it from a player's point of view though. Smith has broken down time and time again, then he sees Max Rooke and Steve Johnson play vital roles in a premiership after having their careers in doubt a few years ago through hamstring and ankle troubles.
Easy to be tempted by that.
Good to see a North supporter seeing the big picture, no doubt all players with injury setbacks would assess where they are at and assess if there other options out there.
No doubt most clubs would have access to similar medical expertise and technology the difference lies with what clubs can afford to engage these options.
People are kidding themselves if they don’t think the likes of Collingwood and West coast don’t have a lot more money to spend on these type of options.

Well said, everyone forgets that Steve Johnson also has shocking ankles (its a risk everytime he plays at Etihad). Would love Smith and but i cant really what the Kangas would want from us, there is talk on our board of Wojak, however i think the roos would want someone a little younger. Sounds as if hes on his way to the GABBA though.Think of it from a player's point of view though. How do you know we haven't gone to all means necessary to help Smith? If it was as simple as a trip to Germany, it would have been done, but it's different. It's a chronic ankle problem.
Do I really need to outline to you why the Roos might not be able to spend as much on medical/fitness services compared to some other clubs?
The most recent posts clearly spell out the situation.
They don't always get it right though.
North are poor, right? The fact is we'd have taken Jesse to see as many specialists as any club would. Funny how you disregard the rest of my post.
The rest of your post was irrelevant. Has nothing to do with M. Owen or the EPL.
It appears that J. Smith wants to move on and one of his caveats is that he is off-loaded to a club, with what he perceives to be, an accomplished medical department. Why wouldn't he want to get the best help (as he sees it) available? It's not just about visiting specialists.
And yes, in relative terms, your club is poor.
