i realised that i forgot to mention why i came into this thread.

jesse white is a beast. sure he was up against renouf and roughie, but he showed that not only has he got a good leap, he did some great tap work, which is very promising.

also, his second and third efforts were great. and he has a physical presence on the ground. i really like this kid.

I see the pro-Vic drones on the main board have the rising star nomination as a two-horse race between Dayne Beams and David Zaharakis, and White's been dismissed because he was "only rucking against Renouf".

Renouf, a premiership ruckman (and, generally, Hawthorn as defending premier), obviously is not regarded as highly as these Victorians regard the Meblurne and Fremantle midfields.

Haha, that was pretty funny White was only rucking against Renouf, but apparently 21 possessions against the might of Melbourne or Fremantle in respective thrashings is mind blowing.

To be honest, I think Jesse is too good to be a ruckman. If we can work it right, we might find out for sure over the next 4 weeks. Hall's injury is at least a couple in my opinion, he was hurt and you don't just get twinges in the groin area. I would like to see Jesse play CHF and another ruckman come in. Can anyone who watched the ressies give an assessment on Currie? Someone said he was a bit unfit, but with Jolly taking most of the load, surely the Ringburner would be fit enough to go 10 mins at a time? How was his actual form? I think Pyke and Jake aren't yet ready.

I'm right with you, as I've just posted on another thread.

White up forward, he's big, powerful, aggressive, athletic and has great hands.
And he can kick a goal, as he showed again Saturday night.

Yeah, that's the solution I'd like most to the hole Hall will leave. Surely Currie can come in and come on in bursts when Jolly needs a break.

Our forward line of the future could take the field this week:

HF: ROK Grundy Ablett
FF: Moore White Meredith

In coming years I'd see that as our main forward line, with maybe MOD replacing Meredith (into the forward line) and Veszpremi, when fit, for Ablett. Dunno who our next big engine will be though it could be Grundy, who looks already set to be roving up and down the field.

Hmm, actually I think this calls for a thread.
