Some one on here said he's very Skinny but also tough as nails, in the Mattner mould.

I think he is a FS option. It would be nice, especially when it looks like Port will now get Bryce.:D

I have heard he's on the rapid improve and is available to us via the FS rule.

He played in the Norwood trial game, started on a wing and moved to a half forward flank in the 4th quarter. He left a lasting memory with me after he kicked a gaol; he was shoulder to shoulder with Ian Perrie and over 4 metres he ended up running into an empty goals, not sure if Perrie gave up or took it easy but he showed he has a lot of pace of the mark..

Good enough? In the second half of the AFC vs. Norwood game he didn’t look out of place like some 17 years do. He was competitive when he went for a contested mark and safe hands when it hit the ground. Could play 10 games for Norwood A’s. Give him the season with Norwood, but he looked promising.

Available to us?Who knows any more? How many games did Michael play for Norwood between January 1st 1970 and December 30th 1989 (to make sure)?

Type of player?

Anything? Wingman/ mid field type, half forward flank (I guess half back as well)

Just had a look and Michael Aish played 307 games for Norwood between 1979 and 1983 so all looks good.

1993 -

In 1979 what round did he debut?

1991, 1992 and 1993 (maximum 75 games @ 25 per year)?

1979-end of 1990 needed to have played 200 games. So it does look likely he would meet the criteria.

Oops my apologies - gee he'd have to be good to play 300 games in 4 years!!!

I'd say he is ours under FS - surely worth a punt as we are only giving up a 3rd rounder to get him.

Fear not the AFL will change the rules when young Aish is good enough. He'll probably qualify for Richmond because they tried to get Michael to play for them.

Or the AFL will use him against us when ruling on Bryce.

Dont rate him much personally.... Like Darren Pfeiffer he played up in the adelaide hills as a junior, finished around 5th in the association medal the year fyfe polled 39 votes from a possible 39 !!!! and blitzed it naturally. Back to Aish hes reasonably quick and tall but wastes his disposal and is prone to backing off the hard ball. Did break my nose tho !!!! Not saying much coz im half his height. I agree dont jump on the bandwagon just because hes eligible and an Aish. Wait and see until after this year

Played against him once, when he filled in for a under 17 game, he basically one tha game for em against us, kicked for memory 5 in a low scoring match, is extrmely quick, and that was tha main reason he was so dominant, his skills arnt tha best, and his bouncing of tha footy is woeful

Yeah I agree to wait maybe next year. This year's draft is deeper than the last two year's draft so there still could be some gems lieing around 3rd round.

I think he will be good enough by years end. Impressed with his performance at Norwood.

Will get better with age like fine wine.

Thanks for the feedback people.

Sounds like the jury's out on young Aish's ability, but he's definately available via FS. Maybe it will be more clear later in the season, when he's had his chance to shine.

Doesn't appear to be any great wraps on the boy, I hear there are bigger wraps on Seb Paynter, but I dont even know if John Paynter qualifies.

He definately played 200 games but I have no idea if they were in the qualifying period. The SANFL web site has removed the details of the 200 game players for some reason. Also there doesnt seem to be any information on Paynter in the Sturt web site, the Legends of the SANFL site or anywhere on the web, which I thought was a tad bit strange considering he was a star in his era.

Any Sturt fans out there know Paynter's details??

he would qualify if you take into account his sturt and bays games. However, I'm pretty sure sturt are alligned to Port Power.

I didnt realise he played for the Bays at all. I thought he only played for the Double Blues.

Also I thought our clubs were, Norwood, Glenelg, Sturt and South. While Port had PMFC, Central, Eagles (both Woodville & Torrens), North and West.

I'm no expert though, obviously!:o
