On Facebook its the ask Jetta a question and it amazing how many are asking why he doesn't run anymore, I didn't bother

chicken :P

Good post Im watching the replay on fox now and he certainly did, you are a better judge of football than some on here. With the benefits of pause and rewind you can certainly see his work.
He was terrible once again. Something is wrong , maybe he would be good trade bait with one of the West clubs.

OK , he was shithouse
lol, this isn't gonna go anywhere he didn't deserve to be singled out was my original point he wont be in the votes and I thought he played a serviceable game, yes he could improve. He is never going to be that crash and bash player that some on here that I know expect.

I don't think he will ever be that, but he wont run anymore. That was his best asset , taking them on, not anymore

He does take them on...when the opportunity arises. It doesn't make sense for him to take on the man all the time when there's no space or it's too crowded in front. All that happens is he gets boxed and has to rush the kick which more often than not turns it over. During his down yr in 2013 (injury aside), there were times he seemed lost and confused as to what to do with the ball and and ended up making some really poor decisions. I'd much rather he be encouraged to trust his natural instincts as the moment/situation demands. Gives him that unpredictability too. He has a nice kick and often plays on quickly to hit up a leading target which is just as valuable in my eyes.

Actually it was his one trick and when he couldnt get on the outside or goal side he was next to useless.

Now he is actually playing closer to the play - usually within a handpass and often on the defensive side. So now for him to run he has to get past his man and then the outriders for the other team on their defensive side of the pack are waiting for him - so he is kicking it earlier. But there are advantages in this. He opens up space for cunningham and jack forward of the ball by being fast behind the ball and he is actually one of the very few players in our team who can hit a leading forward - which i think (and it is just a guess on my part) is why he is being played closer to the ball now.

I think he still has the other trick but horse has a different game plan for jetta now. I think Horse reckons that buddy can do the same thing as jetta used to, on bigger and more lumbering opponents - so why drag another fast guy into that zone

I am not sure it (and certainly from the tone of this discussion it doesnt) makes him a better player - perhaps more rounded and less spectacular, but it might make it better for the team.

i think.

Well said.

I'd disagree he has only trick. He kicks the ball beautifully and is a really important distributor like Malceski. I assume that's under instructions.

His tackling game and possession count have skyrocketed - he's now averaging 17 disposals a game. Last year and even 2012 it was around 12.

I spoke to a very high profile Swan at a club function after the game and we both agreed that Jetta didn't run enough tonight. At least I think we agreed, I was mostly talking over him. Afterwards I saw him talking to another former Swan and they both looked in my direction a few times and smiled. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I think it was about how they both agree with me.

Lays the odd soft tackle, but that run down was great, he is working harder

Will always be frustrating, but certain sections who have it in for him need to get over it

Is a lock for he best 22

Agree with that

Though just because some tend to be more critical of certain players doesn't mean they have it in for them, they're just observations

The annoying thing for me is his great stuff is juxtaposed against soft junk. And that is in the same quarter.

Can do great defensive and offensive acts then just falls off with a seemingly soft effort or won't run 15 metres to space , after running 50 previously in the game.

Makes no sense.

Except for a certain someone and grundy

Reg was good tonight, hope he doesn't use them all before the finals.

He has been better than good for a number of years now. Quite a number actually. Not worried about him in the slightest.

This actually makes me wonder if he might eventually end up as a HB flanker in a Rhyce Shaw role.

He actually got angry at one stage when there was a bit of a blue. A tad better, but there was one in the middle when he received a pass and was all clear, could have taken a couple of bounces and had a shot, but no he got rid of it straight away. Has he been told not to run and bounce, or is he just lacking confidence
