SPP
Hibberd
Wigg
Miles
Two are dpps, probably better served in their non-mid positions and Wigg isn't guaranteed a round 1 game with Brad Crouch, Thompson and Sloane to return. SPP is slighter more than $120k anyway.

The dpp is a benefit imo

We'll see who comes out of the woodwork. If I choose a playing R3 then I might also look to take a loophole M11 who doesn't play R1 but will get games later in the year.

Like Myers

Myers is probably the bloke you would want to target for M11 then, although no dpp so you're kinda limited in loophole flexibility plus he's not basement priced. Looking at Deluca from Freo as a DPP floating donut candidate. Both Essendon and Freo are the two best teams in terms of loophole players to target.

Myers was my first thought when he went down. The Essendon draw makes it tempting.

It's a benefit for trading and filling out spots during bye rounds, don't think it is particularly beneficial in the early rounds, sans floating donut loopholes if you're going down that strategy. For example, would you play Hibberd as a rookie mid and spend $590k odd for Docherty in defence or would you play him in the backline, go one less premo there and spend the equivalent amount on a Sloane, Rockliff, Jelwood or Cripps in the mids?

Exactly my thoughts. I even went the other way and had Adams in my mids at one point because defense rookies are popping up everywhere as opposed to mid rookies.

I'm currently running with a

1/1/6 def
6/1/4 mid

If a mid rookie appears I'll be interested, until then the 4 i previously listed are in.
Myers or Balic or Deluca are my only queries due to R3 options appearing

Quite the lean backline, been alternating between 2/0/6 and 3/0/5 in the backs myself, never like a midprice backman, always have come across as a trap for mine. Lonergan, Sheridan, Lumumba, Rich etc etc. With the plethora of back rookies seemingly available, I don't think mid price backmen make much sense this year, some surer mid-pricers in the forwards who have been actual premos before like Roughy if you're going to go down the mid price route.

Begley is reeling me in despite the fact I know he's pretty much another Tom Papley in which he needs to kick goals to score his points, otherwise he'll just be getting 30's and 40's with the occasional 70+
Papley scored a couple of tons in his first two games no? Played for a much stronger team to be fair.

Jiska you gotta be happy with your boys, plenty of talent on show?
Have not yet watched it.

Tried to watch it last night, fell asleep an woke up at quarter time. Saw 5 minutes of the second and fell asleep again. LOL.

Will watch it when I'm a bit more awake.
