Several comprehensive studies in the US found that the majority of steroid/ped users in US College sports justified their use by saying that they did it because they believed their competitors were also doing it so they were just making it an even playing field.

So this excuse from Bombers players, Coaches and fans is not uncommon.

Until he plays, there will be a question mark over him.

For those complaining though, this is exactly what the club/players are trying to do by having more than the required players not play...Instead of confirming certain players as having INs, they put doubts over a larger number.
 
If and its a big if we ever get to the bottom of this saga people will look back at how EFC handled this mess and go ahhhh thats why.

It just seems so implausible that a professional sporting organization can keep on blundering along with its PR campaign the way EFC has. To me, and this is just an opinion, it seems that they have handled this mess so badly simply because they are doing their best to save the photos from a burning house.

Personally I do not think Joe was in any way shape or form involved in the program but it just boggles the mind that EFC do not make things definitively clear. It just seems like they are always playing this game of cat and mouse trying to be the smartest person in the room when in actual fact the opposite is true.

Like I said its just bad PR .... from the start until now.
 
Even IF nothing illegal was used at Essendon, just the level that this program went to makes 'most people' shake their head.

If it was my son down there, and he told me about the number of injections and IVs etc, I would have been knocking down doors to get some answers. I'm not sure the 'everyone is doing it' from James would have calmed me much.

There will never be a moment when you go, 'oh, they didn't have a 17 year old in the program so therefore it wasn't as bad as I thought it was'.

Just like when you realized the volume of injections wasn't what was reported

Just like when you realized that AOD9604 wasn't being prosecuted

Just like when you realized the list of substances was dramatically smaller than what was reported

Just like when you realized that the support staff that were using PEDs didn't include Hird

For you guys on here, the saga will always be as bad in your mind as it was first sensationally reported. Sad, really.

No it will always be as bad as we thought it was. A 17 year old involved will make it far worse. The fact you got away with AOD does it make it worse.
