The Mayor of NY far more recently called other officers he worked with crackers.

Let's see if he cops the same treatment as JR.
Not quite the same thing if he's caught making one far less offensive remark. I'm pleasantly surprised that he apologised for it.

I know what you are trying to do and see the logic, but “crackers” haven’t been subjected to systemic racism and slavery on the same level if at all than black people.

How do you know your medical and science professionals weren't lying in their "unravelling" of Malone.

Because they agree with a preconception that you have?
We have a claim by Malone, evidence that it is a lie, and no counter to that evidence.

You can start sealioning all you like, but just saying "how do you know?" isn't an argument against the evidence presented.

What's your next step? Try to lay a specificity trap? Distract from the facts with semantics until nobody remembers what was being discussed?

Nah. Malone's a liar. We have proof.

Perhaps being intelligent enough not to get their advice from an entertainment podcast would be a start.
Yes. Yes it would.

But Rogan has spent years building his podcast up as a source of information from interesting, knowledgeable people. Nodding along with them. Acting as a filter and a guide.

Turning around and saying "hey what? why listen to me?" while trousering tens of millions for exactly that reason is disingenuous of him.

You obviously don't listen to him much if at all to state the bolded, you certainly get a hell of a lot more pushback from Rogan to his guests than you get form the large majority of the MSM.

Do you mind educating me and post a list of your go to media organisations/journalists that you feel offer unbiased, non partisan, facts in their news feeds.

Why not? Why allow platforming of anti-vax, ivermectin nutbars? It does nobody any good. All of his lies are available online, why spread them? It's a massive lapse of judgement.

Because the answer is to combat misinformation with reason, logic and facts. Not to censor people. Did we learn nothing from the 20th century?

Bill Burr did it extremely well when he was on Rogans podcast, shot Rogan down beautifully around the mask issue. Just because Rogan is wrong occasionally (let he who is without sin etc) doesn't mean he should be censored.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not some extreme leftie. I love cinema so I don’t get a turned up nose at it’s use in film. It can be necessary in those films to make the audience dislike a character or if a black actor uses it, then I definitely have no issue with it. The term is theirs and understandably so.

I agree language is about intention but that’s probably the one word that’s definitely frowned upon the most. I don’t think you can flippantly/nonchalantly drop it.

What if its a black actor but a white screenwriter/director/produceer?

I agree that intention matters. You should at least be able to say the word while discussing it, or reading it, yet apparently even that is not allowed. Yet somehow it's OK to say it in a movie or in standup, even if you're white. Unless that rule has now changed as well.

The other day I was driving and a song with the N word is on my playlist. I wondered whether I could be attacked for even listening to the song. It was Laugh Now Cry Later by Drake.

"Strictly for my N-words!" doesn't really have the same ring to it

Malone isn't being censored. He's being starved of big audiences as he should be. He lies, and his lies have big potential consequences.

Rogan could probably break his contract and take his podcasts back. Will he? Nah. He's getting the big bucks now.

Platforming outright liars to be edgy and court the smooth brains? Whatever. But his employers and other people on the system don't have to accept it.

I wasn't talking about Malone being censored, I was talking about Rogan.

I don't know all that much about Rogan but from what I have seen if Spotify start trying to interfere with the production of his podcast beyond putting exclaimers at the beginning then I could definitely see him breaking the contract. I doubt it will get to that though, Rogan probably brings in way more subs than random artists like Neil Young or some other pop stars I've never heard of.

Of course the N word shouldn't be used, context offers mitigation though... after all isn't the current Canadian Prime Minister a noted black facer and look where he is now.

Re the pro vaccine > people can and do change their mind.
Valid point. He did get stick though didn’t he? I guess he has runs on the board that paint him in a better light prior than Rogan has so there’s definitely not a fair amount of uproar.

I think the whole black face thing is a weird one though. I remember the little kid in Perth wanting to dress as natanui but people getting upset at that. Just wants to portray his idol.

Slavery has been practiced on every continent for thousands of years. The notion that it is a unique phenomenon to the US is absolutely ludicrous. What is exceptional is that they fought a war over it (Brazil for example continued on their merry way with it for another generation officially, and much longer unofficially).

Try googling that. Millions of white people were enslaved in history and esp in Africa. Just not as recent is all.

Oh yeah. Definitely. Descendants of African slaves in the US have been on a free ride for far too long, right?

Right?

You idiot.

It seems right wing podcasts like JRE are dominating the podcast landscape.

Might be because they are talking about interesting topics that deal with how to improve ones life and enjoying hobbies such as hunting elk.

It appears the lefties have been left behind. I suppose the "pay more taxes shut up and say sorry to everyone" schtick just isn't very interesting to the wider podcast audience, and society in general.
