We should come away understanding more about the truth of the guest's claims and about the solidity of the basis of their opinions.

He should get backlash if he platforms dangerous lies without challenging them.

The ones that tell continual lies, we often have had to drop. The ones that promote intolerance and hate, we often drop. The ones that act like campaigners to other people, we often drop.

It's not perfect but the mods do their best.

The problem is that it is easier to copy and paste a lie from some grifter than it is for mods to chase up the facts and make a determination.

It gets better when we cut them off at the source. The types of people who tell these lies, just keep telling more lies even after the lies are exposed. They just re-word the lies, repeat them in other threads and boards, find new lies.

Some people innocently repeat what they've heard but you can see them retract it when they are shown the facts. That's fine. That's an exchange. Others agree to disagree on opinions. That's cool.

The people way down the rabbit holes have to come out of it themselves or with the help of their friends and families. We can't chase out all of the bullshit ourselves. We have to shut the gate to stop it getting in.

I understand some of that. Im an admin/moderator of a game discord and i am very tolerant. Naughty words that may offend females i remove but otherwise, I will just have a private word to the offender and everything is sorted. Blocking or banning someone is very rarely needed. rogan brings his own platform and following. i think it's fairly obvious the overwhelming majority of guests benefit more from speaking on JRE than rogan does.

when he isn't talking about covid, elk-meat and vitamins he's actually a pretty good interviewer and i think he does challenge his guests when they make controversial claims of fact.

i will skip him talking about covid because it is repetitive and dumb and a bit marie-antoinette like, but not necessarily wrong to the point it should be censored (i am double vaxxed). p
