He's had his knockers all year but surely oxx and co couldnt be unhappy with his efforts tonight!!! He has been backing back with the flight week in week out and tonight he did it 5 times and was consistently crunched! anyone questioning his courage is delusional...in my opinion the difference tonight, showed great leadership and got em going.

if thats how he went about it every week,i wouldn't have a problem

Great call Roostertalk. So sick of of people constantly throwing shit at the only player on our list capable of being anywhere near all Australian. Was BOG by a mile tonight.

he sits in that hole more then anyone else on the list. Sets the example and will be super important for our improvement next year.

Well said ANOTHER quality game from the Tigers most consistent performer of the last 5 years.
Never shirks an issue and if his opponents won't pick him up then that is at their peril.:thumbsu:

couldnt have said it any better, I genuinely feared for his safety earlier on when he backed into a surging pack...he was brilliant tonight:thumbsu:

You stole my topic... was coming on here for the same thing.

Totally agree. Bowden was fantastic in that 1st qtr backing into packs. Also in last qtr when game was still in balance and lovett-murry ran down the wing, Bowden again went back with the flight and spoilt Lloyd.

Well done Joel :thumbsu:

Starting him on the banch  me.

TW started the experienced guys on the bench, and the youngsters straight out on the ground otherwise they (the youngsters) may have sat on the bench star gazing into the big crowd. (He said that on Foxtel).

He was simply awesome tonight. Doesnt get enough credit for positioning himself to provide an option for our defence to get out of trouble. People will call it a soft possession, but if he wasnt there players like Thursfield, McGuane, Raines etc would get put under a lot of pressure and turn the ball over all the time. Its kind of like Richos hard running up to the wing to provide an option, just Joel doesnt get any credit for it.

You say that as if you have a clue.
Your uneducated opinions are not wanted here.
Why don't you p!ss of back to your loser Bomber board.
In future if we want your opinion we will give it too you!!!!

That was one of his best games last night. HIt it hard, didn't back away from a contest and disposal was class. That goal that he kicked got me off my arse as well! :thumbsu:

Bowden prior to moving into defence was soft.

Since moving to defence, cant be made out to be soft.

Has the occasional laspe, but he's been far more consistent and accountable.

Thursfield is going to be an absolute star backman for us. fantastic to have this boy lining up in the yellow and black

I'm curious as to what our interpretation of soft is? Probably hasn't appeared to run as hard as he could at times but he as always been a poise player as opposed to a speedy break the lines type.

The only time i ever saw him shirk an issue was in his younger years after returning from a shoulder dislocation he threw one arm a couple of times, for those that have dislocated shoulders this can merely be a case of management and keeping your arm attached until the appropriate surgery is done.

He certainly would never not put his body in the line of fire though. His acts of bravery were much more obvious last night but i assure you he has been doing it all year. You will start seeing alot more of it now that he is freed up and not forced to play body on body with all the afl's gorillas. Hopefully next year thursty will be big enough to take the lynchs, browns, roccas and gehrigs.

Only thing positive about tonights game is the ability for us to get more at the trade table in about 6 weeks time.

Offers us nothing in bringing a premiership to Punt Road, time to start cashing in. :thumbsu:

Ps. happy for everyone to keep talking his game up, other clubs might start to catch on! ;)

grow up when are you going to accept the fact joel isnt being traded

Joel had a good game last night.
But second last game of the year him and his cronies in Johnson decide to lead this club is a tad too late.
Move this lot over as the leaders of this club to the ones that want to play for the club all season, not when they're trying to look good at the end of an abysmal year.
Our leaders have been pathetic and I'm not blaming Joel for all of it - but as a collective they were really shown up this year for what they are.
They couldn't lead Barwon inmates to a brothel!:thumbsd:
