Joey is tough, fearless, can run (fast !!), 3 qualities that are great for a BP, the position he is most likely to be fighting for. His disposal is ok, his deer in the headlight problem will get better with more experience and confidence. He has still played less than 20 AFL games, given the chance I believe that he will be a very good consistant contributer to our side.

The bigger problem for him is that Browne & Army are probably ahead of him in the fight for that BP position, so Joey may not get his chance, but like I said if given it I think he will make it.

My first instinct is to say that Joey is definitely worth persisting with, but then I realise that we MUST delist 3 or 4 players at years end. He's not at the head of the queue <cough>Edwards<cough>Hartlett, but we're going to be forced to make some very hard decisions soon.

Tend to agree with this summation. Quite a few guys on our list have now gone past him, and he would really be fighting quite hard to get a regular spot in our 22.

But, he has shown something, and would love to see him improve this year in 2009.

Personally I am not convinced with Joey but that's not to say I am giving up on him.

Needs to fix that hair though, we don't a Nathan Carrol lookalike at our club.

Good luck to him but it might be tough!

I wouldn't be too worried about the rabbit in the headlights thing, its happened to quite a few current players. Bower, Grigg, Simpson are just a few that come to mind right away. We played them when they were obviously struggling (i don't even wanna remember how many times Grigg got caught with the ball) and they've all turned out better than alright.
