before the game i was in the TAB with my magpie mates putting on my "1st goalkicker" bet as i do every week.

so i was looking at the odds and thought about who it could be till i decided to go with JACK!

my mate said "john who??" and i responded "he'll start in the goalsquare so he's a chance"

i was picturing him being hit on the chest 30m from goal then converting, but it didn't quite go that way, in the end he tackled Gibson which got him a freekick. Then i see a player from Collingwood pick up the ball and kick a goal. "no advantage" i yelled... luckily the umpire agreed, then JACK kicked truly....

23/1 and i had $10 on it.....very happy!

earlier in the year i had Leon Davis against Geelong and that was also from a "holding the ball" freekick, then a 50m penalty...great stuff!

I had $$ on Pendlebury earlier in the year for first goal against West Coast... Think that may have been a holding the ball decision also, but my memory from that day is shot as I won 150 and we smashed west coast by nearly that margin so the brewskis were flowing - Hence the memory loss.
