My biggest concern would be around his attitude if he is as much of a tosser as everybody reports.

Complete tosser aparently, how ever I would be less inclined to be picking Victorian cry babies these days. The "I wanna go home to momma" factor seems to be more prevalent these days.

All people think some people are w***ers. Some agree but others disagree. It's funny how if rumour gets passed around long enough, it becomes fact.

I've heard some posters say Hase was a twat, but then I've known people who said he was as layed back as they get. I'm more inclined to believe that the people doing the bitching about people they don't know, are in fact the w***ers.

"Yeah, but one time we were out on the piss, and my mates and I saw this player, and he was a total ********. We were as drunk and obnoxious as everyone else, can't believe how much of a w***er he was to us." etc. What do you think footballers say to each other about ******** supporters who come up and hassle them every time they leave the house?

I personally think Jesus is a w***er while I am not, and I couldn't possibly be in the wrong there, right guys?

Unless you have met him or seen him and you have came to the conclusion that he's a twat, your opinion is invalid.

There's quite a few rumours floating about concerning young John Anthony.

There's quite a few rumours floating about concerning my husband, Mr Rude, too, and they're probably all true, especially the ones about him being a drunk gambler who watches pr0n.

How I rue the day I married that man.
Divorce him and put the story up on the bay:)

As far as the they are concerned on the Collingwood board he is going to the Blues.
Reality is if he was going he would have been traded surely?

PSD is a real risk for a JA type player. He surely has some currency so why would a) the club allow to leave with zero compensation and b) Jack risk getting snaffled by a club he does not want to go to of worse not get picked up at all. (not saying he does not want to go to Freo or any such snubbery.)

It just does not make sense. He'll be a Pie next year.

Maybe because he was
1) shopped around as a trade
2) getting no opportunities
3) keen to stick it to the pies for both of the above
4) wherever he goes, he is likely to see more AFL action particularly as Tarrant is now a pie and moved him further away on the selection table.

How much can he be worth really. Our cap can't be in great nick with Pav, Sandi and Mundy on massive money. Plus all these good young players coming through.

I've been thinking about this and come to a series of possibilities:

1. Freo haven't responded because they have the cap space and plan on picking him up should the chance present.
2. They're so far from interested they're not even dignifying with response.
3. They aren't even aware of this as even a possibility at the current point in time.

Either way they're playing their cards close to their chest in typical Harves fashion.

He could just threaten to retire if he doesn't get to the club he wants ;)

I'm not being provocative in my post. It's just the way I see it.
If he wants out then the Pies will do what they can to get him where he wants to go no doubt. The PSD route just seems too uncertain as a "planned" method to move on. I would have thought he and the club would had a good idea of what was going on prior to trade week and would have tried to do something then.
If he was "shopped" around, and there were no takers, especially as the Tarrant deal was under way, I would have thought he would have been a part of that if Freo had any interest.
Don't you think?

Bit early for JA to consider retirement, that's why I specified "JA TYPE PLAYER".:)
Personally I'd like Collingwood to retain him. His long term future at the club will depend on his pre-season and whether he can get back to his 2009 form and earn a place in the 22. At the same time I can understand his wanting opportunity elsewhere.
It is a tight situation for a player at his stage of development at Collingwood, but what looks set in stone selection wise one week can change dramatically with injury and form very quickly.

I reckon if Anthony walks he will go to the Gold Coast,if collingwood agree.
If for some reason Gold Coast pass,West coast, richmond then Essendon are next in line, can't see him being passed up by any of these clubs.

So how the hell is he likely to end up at Carlton or Freo ?.......FAT CHANCE!

However most likely i reckon he'll stay with the pies for at least one year, and if things don't chane he will go to GWS.

Pie eyed, that is what is called a "joke", which involves a "sense of humour" and refers to what some ex player threatened to do if they didn't etc, blah, blah. Can't remember the players name.

If Anthony goes in the national draft not the psd we are a good chance of picking him up

West Coast don't have the salary cap space for him, Richmond are after Houli and Essendon have no need of KPPs. I can quite easily see him falling to Carlon or Freo. The one I'd be watching out for is Port. They could use a KP fwd and would potentially have a pick before either team.

Port dont have much salary cap space either. (This may be due to the fact they are only paying minimum salary cap this year).

This is why they couldnt pick up Walker from Carlton.

Hmm... so who would be left then? North maybe? Looking more and more likely that if he wants out of Collingwood then his options will be limited.

Depending on how much we want him it would be a safer option to take him with our last pick in the ND
How much picks do we have again?

I think we have 4 (correct me If I'm wrong) so I agree.

But if we have more than four we should still take him with out fourth pick. Still young, and we probably wouldn't be drafting a superstar with or fourth pick anyway.

I know John through a friend and he is one of the nicest guys you could meet. He keep's it real. He likes to speak the truth and some people don't like that [tough]. [Because most people would rather stab you in the back] he has a heart of gold and sometimes wears it on his sleeve and would go out of his way to help you if he can. He is far from arrogrant and a tool. So for those people who mention off field incidents and not being liked at the club, Has he embarrassed the club NO! Trouble with the law NO! sighted out with collingwood players socially YES I'm really pissed off that people on these boards think that they know John, they don't and they just love to make mountains out of mole hills. Who wants to be ordinary. Thats boring. He's going to have a fantastic pre season going in with no injuries. Also to all the DROP KICK collingwood supporters who love to rubbish him all the time. If he does leave our club [ i hope he doesn't] and goes on to be a great forward or even play in the backline because he has proved he can do both, BOG many times VFL, 50 Goals in a season AFL [up yours]

God you must think I'm a vegetable....see smiley thing after my response.:D

On Tarrant, he at least saw that you got a pick and a upgrade.
I know some are dirty on him but this is modern football.
If Jack were to leave then I would expect he'd have discussed it with the club and made some provision for them to receive something in return.

Jolly and Tarrant are the rule. Ball was an aberration because Lyon either did not want to deal, period or he thought he could call Ball's bluff.

Generally Collingwood deal fairly but it usually the player that drives the decision to switch clubs.

AS I said earlier I'm not down on Freo if JA ends up there, I just doubt that the rumoured route will eventuate.

Very quiet in footy news so these stories get a run even with little to back them. Which is not to say it can't happen, just that it's not likely.
