I heard that there are some doubts about whether he will re sign or not, I dont think Port can afford to lose him. But what would he be worth on the trade table? only played 2 games, kicked 1 goal one his debut and 6 today against the doggies.

Been very impressive, to early to judge what he'd be worth though, if he has a strong finish to the year i'd say top 5 pick minimum, would be a great fit for Carlton, maybe Gibbs + Carltons first rounder.
2 first rounders, one in the top 10.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and their was an article on AFL website last week that Port Adelaide haven't offer him a new contract yet.
I'm tipping that will change this week after his six goal performance.

Still a kid, one game doesn't mean he'll be a star. Wouldn't trade Gibbs for him, let alone Gibbs and a first rounder.

Spoken like a true Carlton supporter, fact is mate, if the Gibbs draft was to be redone, he wouldn't go top 10, borderline top 20 IMO, and you wouldn't swap him for Butcher? (and my comment was based on if Butcher had a strong end to the season)

Port could use a bloke that can actually use the ball well and find a bit of space as they always seem to be putting their own players under pressure through handballing and rarely hit targets.
Butcher would be a perfect fit for our forward line, splits the packs, get's the ball to ground, and looks to have a Fevola-esque set shot going by yesterdays performance.

Port give you Butcher and a second rounder?
Correct.. A former number one pick for a developing KPF and another pick in a tough draft. Won't happen as Port are obviously on the rebuild, but think both players would fit nicely into either teams.

Reckon it would be the other way around, but if i were Carlton i would give gibbs and a first rounder (if Butcher has a good finish to the season) you need a KF and you need one desperatly and you're going to have to pay overs to get one, i reckon real value would be Gibbs + a second rounder, if you can get that you should jump at it. (also considering it's a compromised draft)
